Imperial Transport - converted model kit

By Rob Jedi, in X-Wing

I'm a bit undecided if it also needs some brand labelling in Aurabesh on the tanks. Anyone have a good idea for a logo to put on it?

Or hunt about on wookieepedia for other arms manufacturers maybe?

I'm more after a mining or shipping company name. I've already gone through entries about Bespin and Tibana but despite many entries about how it's mined, extracted and used in weapons and hyperdrives it skips over any companies involved.

I just realized that X-Wing Alliance was about Ace Azzameen, whose family operated Twin Suns Shipping

They had a feud with the Viraxo but I can't find any imagery on them.

Label the tanks Colt 45

Does that mean it would need a pilot card for Lando?

Since you asked for marking ideas, I would put a long strand of numbers on the tanks.

Wonderful job. Thanks for sharing!

Fantastic work! If all else just make up a company.

What happened to your pics?

Looks like you can only post so many pics to your account? I can't see any of the pics.

Seriously: Flickr no bandwidth limitations.

supposedly all the views chewed through 10gb of bandwidth o.O

Will be back in a few days or I could start using Flickr

Well that's an odd lot of conversation.

Edit: oh, there were pictures. I thought I'd missed a joke somewhere.

I just got my Base Jabber kit in today from Amazon. Thanks for sharing the info on this one Rob.

:)

It is an awesome little model.

I tip my hat to you Mr. Rob Jedi. I am envious of both the talent and the time you possess. Great looking models, thanks for sharing.

I'll see your Base Jabber, and raise you a pair of COBRA HISS Tanks, my good man!

:D

Wish we had more GI JOE toys in Oz , we had small stuff when the movies came out but never any of the cool big stuff like the crazy tilt rotars UK Bulldog modded the crap out of for his 40K dropships. Joe I look forward to seeing what you do with them beasties. The central body is an interesting shape. Planning on making scum or smuggler big cargo ships?

Man that is a shame you can not get them.

I am making a pair of badass Assault Carriers with the HISS Tanks. They are going to be similar to the Crusader Corvette made by the Mandalorians. I figure FFG has got a good start on Black Sun, so I may as well do Mandalorians to go with Boba.

The little Scyk is one of the main Mandal Motors designs . It is referred to as a Hutt ship and they use it of course, but it was made by Madalorians. I figure to make a cool ship to bring them into battle.

:)

How big is it in comparison to the rebel transport?

Just wanted to chime in and say the transport looks really badass and is surprisingly well scaled to the other X-Wing models. The cockpit looks to be about the same size as the Lambda's.

Despite being massively under scale it just kinda fits in with the other X-wing ships. I'd love to get the 1/350 resin kit version though.

...And where might one find said resin model? >3>

That work is phenomenal! Were I to nitpick (And seriously, it's being too fussy when the model already looks so awesome!), it'd be that I'd halfway expect the tanks to be more weathered & worn - even if the ship is Imperial, I envisage the tanks as being detachable, and thus more poorly maintained - a little like seeing a shiny train towing weathered rail stock.

Love it, otherwise :) It's remarkable just how well it scales with the others, too.

Had an idea about the tanker. What if you added little bits to the cockpit that gave the window a Star Destroyer-like bridge..?

They have a relatively inexpensive 1/350 Colonial One that would make, in my opinion, a good stand-in for Epic games.
