What do we know about the Adranti? (MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS FROM PURGE THE UNCLEAN)

By The Laughing God, in Dark Heresy

Finally back on topic! :)

I really like the idea of the Adrantians as a democratic enlightened society that was way too open and advanced for the grimdark of the 41st millennium and especially the empire of Man ... kind of like lost Atlantis.

2. Why should the SQ not tolerate Warp-worshipers in their mids when Eloeholth himself has dedicated his soul to the warp ?

I believe their goal is to terminate psykers because they might accidentally divine Eloeholth's plans. That's why they don't like them and will grind them into joyous juice.

4.Do you think its possible that the Tyrant Star is kinda last revenge from the Adranti and/or Eloeholth ?

i very highly doubt it, the tyrant star's machinations havent even been deduced, what on earth could it do to either of those people?

I'd say that the Tyrant Star is beyond the Adranti...it's very Lovecraftian...at best, I think the Adranti are the Hyperboreans to Komus' Yog Sottoth.

As for the whole Adranti 'enlightened democracy' thing; that's just an elaboration on what we are told about the Serrated Query in PtU. It's certainly one of the best things in the supplement...and pretty fresh for the 40k universe in general.

Perhaps the Tyrant Star could be lessened by some ancient defense mechanism of the Adranti? It may not even be designed to deal with such a thing but if the players could adapt it to their purpose more time might be bought.

Just to reinvigorate the thread and posit another question > Given that Elhoeholth is at least 10,000 years old do we want to hazard a guess at actually how old he/she/it is?

Do most people assume that he was just an ordinary human until the Horus Heresy or was he abit special before that?

I ask this because in PtU Anguarineth states that the Lament of Dethardin perfomed by the harlequins - "What you seek has been bound to shadows and veiled for long years even by the reckoning of the eldar".

I know its hazy but might it be possible that "long years even by the reckoning of the eldar" is longer than 10,000 years?

I'm thinking that the Adranti have the lore required to deal with Komus in some sense. At least in my campaign, they're going to represent a major transitional point that will see my Acolytes choosing the path of the radical or the puritan. At least that's my hope. I'm still in the the first third of my campaign (and it's a slow mover). Ny guess is that Elhoeholth designed the mechanism in cose consultation with the Eldar. Heck, maybe he even betrayed them in some fashion, hence their animosity in PtU.

I'm sure that he's special. I don't like the space marine angle...he seems somehow more enigmatic than that. As I previously mentioned, I've made him the first Sensei and it's working just fine...that is, he's the Emperor's actual child born from the union between the Emperor and a mortal woman(making his actual age open to complete speculation. For me, 20,000 or so works). I love the Sensei and mourn their apparrent de-canonification. That said, I don't have a problem with the concept of hope in 40k. For me, it makes the setting resonate a little more. I'm a big Delta Green fan and don't need the same atmosphere repeated....I don't think I could handle it. :P
