Showing off my Royal TIEint, WITH FINS!!!
adding fins
How did you make these? Why aren't they flush with the wings?
Stunning work on the modification and paint job!

I opted for a gap between the wings and the fins itself, based on some reference pics, and also felt it would look more interesting
I took a 2nd TIEint and chop chop, then I took the long triangle part, rearranged and reshaped it a bit, added new details and created the connectors with plaplate, then fixed them together.
Looks very cool!
I love it! Your idea of placing a gap is beautiful and fits the imperial style a lot.
Awesome work.... This model tempts me to replicate it for myself.

My heart bleed knowing that you destroyed another Interceptor... but nice result!

to be fair, the idea came about when my friend borrowed my TIEint and broke it, then offered to share a TIEint pack a few days later (he needed Soontir and stuff, I needed the model, win-win)

In that case, great salvage!
I was a little disappointed with the Royal Interceptor not having the fins on them. You've corrected that problem nicely.
How much for 4 of them?
This is really cool! It makes the Tie Intercepter look really beefy. In a good way. Like Jango Fett vs a clone trooper...
When I saw the gaps,
At first I was like, "What?"
Then I realized the gaps were completely intentional,
Then I was like, "What!"
Then I took a look back and admired it as a whole,
Then I was like, "Woah..."
That is a great modeling job, but I'm concerned how they will hold up under normal handling during a game. That is a small attachment point, and it could snap off fairly easily. Did you pin them or just glue?
Just glue. Didnt really have the tools nor confidence to try a pin method
Should be alright, if my Xwing laser pewpews are still intact, i dont think the fins would be damaged too much
What's funny is that with the gaps between the wings it actually makes it look MORE threatening. Very cool. I can't wait to see some Defender repaints like this.
That is Ace! Awesome job!
Outstanding! I'll try casting the fins to see if I can reproduce your idea without breaking a ship.
Took it out for a test drive, died immediately from a OHKO
We had a game this past Sunday, a 4 HP Turr (3 hull and 1 shiled) with 4 defense die (with SD), died with OHKO as well, rolled 4 blanks. Glorious death!
edit: Sweet sweet mod, I wish I could be just as handy as you. I tried to just put the blood stripes on the Interceptors, and ruined 3 models... that's how bad I am.
Edited by BattlePriestFor mine, i painted my tamiya masking tape red, then taped the bloodstripes onto the model
No mess, no fuss, no paint bleeding. And removable too.
maybe FFG will release a FIN upgrade kit..lol It does look great, but i wont sacrifice an interceptor to get the fins..lol but great work.. although i am looking down at the external tank fins on a 1/72 scale model of a mig-31 that i am building and thinking, i don't have to put those wing tanks on the model.....hmmmmmm
