Imperial QQ over finally?

By Khyros, in X-Wing

Nah, we can QQ over the fact that Blount is a serious threat to traditional TIE Swarms at only what, 22 points? :D

Swarms are noisome guests in the palace of Imperial innovation, and have overstayed their welcome; it's time to throw open the doors and let the wind rise.

Being able to effectively White K every turn (even with action loss) is HUGE. The options it opens up especially on the highly maneuverable Int (and the equally maneuverable Defender when you can dump stress from hard turns) is crazy good.

How many people have also figured out that if you add an Engine upgrade to a Defender you can White 4K and then change angle of attack?

Eat this you B-Wing scum....

Engine upgrade + daredevil on the defender lol

And think - they haven't even spoiled the W4 Imperials yet!

Yeah, why haven't they spoiled the wave 4 Imperials yet? Several consecutive Rebel-only releases and the first of the wave 4 fighters spoiled is another Rebel fighter? Bias! Bias I say!

It's interesting, you can create such a nasty counter to the swarm with the Z-95. Blount and 4 other Z-95s with Assault Missiles and Munitions Failsafe is just so much hurt for grouping up. I would almost say that the 8 TIE Swarm is better against that, because you can then split up. Luckily, such a squad will just die to anything else.

I don't even play Tie fight swarms, I played Interceptor swarm once (5 alphas), it was fun, but meh, not my style (and obligatory comment on how I hate going against the Falcon with Tie Interceptors :P )

A question comes to mind (want to confirm), say I put R3-A2 (who will come out in the transport) on a Y-wing with an Ion-turret, does that mean it can basically put a stress on a defender targeted by the turret? R3-A2 says firing arc, the turrets have 360-degrees (even though range 2) firing arc.

Turrets do not change your firing arc. The wording of the ion turret actually points that out explicitly: something like "attack one ship, even a ship outside your firing arc".

Ok, gotcha. Thank you. Very shrew wording and thinking way ahead by Fantasy Flight. Kudos.

I actually think they had to consider it with Backstabber and the Falcon.
