ooh,

could you park 2 shuttles next to eachother and wingmen eachothers stress away? And take advanced sensors so you still take actions? :D

not like it'll get used much, but you ould make a lil wall like that and go

'This is where they die! Give them nothing!! THIS IS SPARTA!!!'

No, you can't, because no shuttle pilots have an EPT.

You can, however, park a Black Squadron Pilot + Wingman directly behind a Lambda + Advanced Sensors and have it execute nothing but straight-2 maneuvers (and accordingly remain stuck). Every turn the Lambda takes an action, executes its stop maneuver, takes a stress token, and then gives the stress token away at the start of combat. The TIE Fighter never gets an action, but does it need one...?

But you could put a couple of black squadron wingmen behind them. Have the ties move so that they overlap the shuttles and so don't move either.

Not sure why you would want to though. Seems like a couple non turreted ships that just sat still would be incredibly easy to kill.

That's why you would need a primary threat, so the shuttle is an effective artillery unit.. Say krassis HLC? BH Gunner?

An HLC shuttle fortress is a powerful thing.

Can you elaborate? I just don't see the benefit. After buying the shuttles and TIEs you only have 26 points left. If you just park the shuttles in corners I will stay out of range, if you move them to the center I will get out of their arcs. What 26 point ship is going to change that and not get destroyed by 100 points shooting at just it?

Shuttles and support stay in a corner. They never move.

Then one of two things will happen:

a) The opponent stays out of range. Nobody will fire a single shot all game long.

b) The opponent moves into range. HLC shuttle fortress has a good chance to win.

A smart opponent will choose a). And both players bore themselves to death.

2 shuttles, Yorr and either Omicron or Jendon, both with advanced sensors or FCS and heavy lasers. They deploy one facing forward and Yorr facing him, bases touching, in one corner on the board, fortress style. They never move, are never stressed, and they both get target locked HLC shots against anything that comes in range. Add a Swarmlet or a bounty hunter to hover in the area.

So what's to prevent ships from circling around the edge of the map, out of range and then approaching from out of arc? Two shuttles facing each other will have a fairly significant blind spot to their flank.

I guess once we have wingman one of the shuttles could be rotated 90 degrees to the other, that would provide decent coverage.

Not facing eachother, facing 90degrees of eachother. Yorr has his tail end to the corner, facing sideways, and he touches the other shuttle that faces forward. Your firing arcs overlap each other and the edges, giving you full 90 degree coverage. Anything that comes in range can be targeted.

By placing the Parking Lot in the corner so they can't circle around behind you.

Yep.

Delicious Cheese that Reeks of Terrible Cheese.

However, while powerful, it's not very fun for either player.

That sounds.... incredibly boring. Even b.

I wonder if either party could be called for stalling?

Conjures a mental image of WWI trench warfare.

I wonder if either party could be called for stalling?

It's at least borderline. I'm torn between "it's legal" and "it's clearly no fun for anyone", but leaning toward the latter.

That is, if I'm the TO, I think I'm politely indicating that the Parking Lot's opponents showed up to dogfight rather than make bombing runs on perfectly stationary targets, and that the stalling/unsportsmanlike rules are a definite option if he or she doesn't actually start flying.

OH MY GOD.

YES.

YYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSS.

THESE CHUDDY LITTLE FIGHTERS ARE EXACTLY WHAT I NEED.

These will make the perfect escorts for an HWK. just perfect for the list I'm developing!

However, while powerful, it's not very fun for either player.

No less fun than that APLs and Ions squad.

At least that APL squad is doing some flying and can still be fought.

I'm totally going to be doing the shuttle parking lot build. Completely legal stuff!

Shuttle Lot vs Ywing Ion build lol

Shuttle Lot vs Ywing Ion build lol

That would... actually work quite well. Ions would force the shuttles to move, throwing at least one of them into the others APS and eventually off the board.
