Does anyone else keep sideboards for their decks? For instance I have an Elrond/Frodo/Glorfindel deck which I keep 3 Renewed Friendship (for other attachment decks), 3 Desperate Alliance (sic, in case someone else needs Frodo to block or Elrond to play a crucial ally without sphere matches) and 3 Forest Snares (to use with Vilya for big baddies). Just curious if anyone else does this and has any sideboard staples.
Sideboards
Yes sure yoy can use a sideboard but…..Actually by the tournaments rules sideboard is all heroes whom you can change from quest to quest. But colmpaign mode is different…there is you can change deck to quest to quest but if you wonna change a hero you add 1 threat. So for me those rules is quite clear about sideboard. Depend on the format you play.
Yeah, the tournament rules are clear, was just curious about how people play on their own. I haven't tried using it during campaign mode yet but I have only played that with theme decks ![]()
I really like a compaign mode for BR. I will play it when second box will come. Now with one box is a bit useless. But soon we ail get NM for Hobbit. SO it will be very interesting pal it in compaign mode too.
I use side boards for both my decks (I play two handed) which is more or less essential considering I use only these two decks and don't make decks specific for quests. For my tactics and leadership deck I take out the Faramir ally and replace it with Erestor for quests that involve a Faramir objective/ally and Hands upon the Bow is swapped with Goblin Cleavor if there are enemies that need destroying in the staging area or there are few/no orcs in the scenario! =)
In my lore and spirit deck I have Westfold Outriders to replace Arwen if need be (Arwen objective quests), Ancient Mathoms to replace Power of Orthanc if there are no nasty condition attachments in the quest, Thror's Map and Thror's Key to replace Ranger Spikes if enemies in the quest can't have attachments and Miruvor's to replace Expecting Mischief if there are few enemies/boss type enemies that 2 damage doesn't help much against.
Sounds like a weird idea. Like always playing with the same deck. ![]()

Isn't Westfold Outsider the new Tactics ally? Do you mean Westfold Horsebreaker?I use side boards for both my decks (I play two handed) which is more or less essential considering I use only these two decks and don't make decks specific for quests. My bad I actually meant Rider of the Mark

I always use my same two decks (a bit more like one big deck to me), really not a fan of making different decks for different quests. Granted I've had to change, edit and update my decks many many times...... but that just means I've honed and perfected them as much as I can! Not the best two decks out there as I do try to retain some theme (they aren't on the level of outlands or dwarves, at least I doubt it) so they are a mix between decks to rule them all and themed decks...... they do pretty well but the sideboards are essential.
I have sideboards for all decks. But it more like a pile of preselected cards that don't make the final cut.
As I usually have about 6 decks made up and depending on which two my wife and I play at any one time some of the cards need to change to work together (like last week we forgot to sub out some of the stewards of gondor so had 3 in each deck). And also some changes are made depending on the quest ( after playing it through without using the sideboard first).
Having optional 4th and 5th pick heros is also a good choice, as some crop up as allies, objectives or are better in the companion decks. Sometimes in two color decks when you sub a few cards in you need to change one of the heros to get the correct resource / card color ratios.
