Used Ship Lot (Excel tool)

By Ryoden, in Game Masters

Hello folks. I put together an excel spreadsheet that randomly populates a ship with potential deficencies and attachments. The front page is fairly self explanitory so I'll just leave it here for you all to play around with. Let me know if there is anything that seems buggy. or if you have any suggestions for development of the next version.

Cool! Took me a while to catch on to what I was looking at, but yeah very handy! Thanks for doing so much hard work.

Love the Excel App, AND the addition of roll tables (Who doesn't love rolling on tables?)

Now I know the best way to outfit new groups with questionable used ships.

Now we just need a table for how greasy-looking the salesman is.

Yeah I am about to have the group I am running get their first big payout and they are going to head for Skretch and Dants Used Shiplot to replace the broken down YT-1000 they started with.

Fun times.

This is awesome!

So what does the "an additional barrel on its main weapon" mean? Is that linked +1 or something else? I don't see it anywhere in the rules or mods...

Also, if using the charts alone, how do you determine how many deficiencies it has?

That excel sheet is amazing!

I greatly appreciate all the work you put in.

The Additional Barrel is the idea of using the Linked +1 thing. It's the last option on table 7-17 on page 271. I should point out that the random generator will occasionally result in a nonsensical pairing of attachments and ship. Like giving a ship that has no weapons an additional barrel or putting an attachment that takes 2 hard points on a ship that only has one. It would be a lot of work to fix the program so you'll have to watch out for that on your own.

In the excell program I gave it a 10% chance of none, 50% of 1, 30% of 2 and 10% of 3. so on a d10 it would play out like this

1 - three deficiencies

2-4 - two deficiencies

5-9 - one deficiency

10 - no deficiency
