TIE Defender White Koiogran confirmed

By UnfairBanana, in X-Wing

Not sure if anyone's seen this yet, but...

A while back there was all sorts of speculation about the Defender's "never before printed maneuver"

Well, I for one, am somewhat disappointed.

It also explains the Phantom's cloaking ability.

White K-turn in exchange for poor L / R turns...i'm ok with it.

You give up maneuverability for what may become a strong "down and back" kind of ship.

True, but I was hoping for something we really haven't seen. An all-new maneuver would have been neat. Still a nice ship, and I'm not saying the White K isn't good, because it most certainly is, but...I dunno. Guess I was hoping for more.

Interesting. White K-turn is nice, esp. for PtLing.

Was really hoping for a hard 2 kturn, but I guess this is good. I want to try and a duel defender-phantom ace combo work.

Now I'm wondering is it a 1, 3 or 4 or 5.... it will depend on the speed as to how useful it is. I think this is a good thing, and the hints to the Phantom abilities is nice to see as well..

Hard-2-K-Turn? If the White-K is at 3 or 4 speed and you have daredevil you can achieve similar results provided room to maneuver.

I've actually seen some speculating it'll be a white 4. Anyone able to cite that?

DO you think that could have a white 4k-turn and a red 5k-turn?...

I think you'll get multiple Kturns like the other Tie variants. I want to know how many green moves?

This actually makes me kinda sad. I like the tight turns, being able to very accurately gauge each turn in my head and execute it. I tend to eschew kiograns in favor of coming around asteroids. White kiogran? Seems kinda "i don't have to give a **** anymore" easy flying like a YT-1300. However, I'm still intrigued to try it out.

Good to know how Cloaking works as well...

Well there are ships that do that . They clearly just didn't design the Defender to be one of those. ;)

Yes, I'm aware. And the Defender isn't one of them, which means that it won't be a ship I go to when that's what i want out of this game. Hence the disappointment.

Maybe this means we could get an Avenger. Before somebody starts screaming, I know its just wild speculation but the Defender's maneuver dial will probably leave open the possibility of a super maneuverable advanced imperial ship.

Think like ... the Defender is the Jet powered plane amongst piston engine planes ... piston engine planes are much better in flying sharp courves - jet powered planes fight in a different style ... just like the pilots of the Me262 had to use different fighter tactics as they were used in their Bf109.

Splash damage and stealth killer.

even more spoilers that actually have been spoiled already ... ?

oops...just saw the other post i stand corrected

Now I'm curious about the E-wing's dial, the Defender lost the evade action due to the white K-turn but also gain a red 1 hard turn), now what does the E-wing lose (if any)? despite already getting better upgrade options (having 2 of the best upgrade choices, the Systems upgrade and droids, is really good) and having barrel roll as well as evade, I wonder what "penalty" does it have.

E-Wings have a white 1 bank. The picture showing that maneuver most likely means they do not have a 1 turn. I hope they have a good number of green speed 2 maneuvers like the A-Wing. If not ...

E-Wing Dial i expect to be the same as the Firespray-31 with the addition of a 5-straight. greens would be the same as the X-Wing plus the straight maneuvers (reason to use an R2 for the green 1-2's).

But thats getting off topic for the thread...

Does anyone know anything about the source? Gametrademagazine does not ring a bell over here and I haven't seen any announcement by FFG that would confirm that.

Gametrademagazine is reliable. It is the previews from Alliance Game Distributors that retailers get so they can place their initial orders.

R7 + Tarn Mison! Always force enemy to re-roll their attack, pretty nice, esp. with focus.
