Spoilers, Surprised They Haven't Been Commented On Yet

By KineticOperator, in X-Wing

I'd happily have Whisper as my callsign, it's badass.

It doesn't seem like there is any restrictions on taking stealth device in a phantom. So you can have 5 green dice while cloaked.

You just would lose out on taking the auto cloak after attack and the evade token after decloak. Advanced cloak still seems better as long as it doesn't cost to much. I'm hoping it is only 5 points.

The question is: Did he/she got this callsign before or after he/she got a Phantom?

Updating me now about spoilers.

So it's no ship that can put the modification card that comes with Tie Phantom tie. You need to take cloak action or a modification that gives this action to the ship.

Then if the ship has the action of cloack (either via standard action in action bar or modification card) will equip the tie phantom's modification card that is not unique. (stygium particle accelerator).

Am I right in my thinking so far?

Then the tie interceptors (via title card - royal guard tie) could in future (if the modification that gives the action of cloack is released) have both action: cloack action and putting other generic modification that comes with the phantom tie.

Sounds pretty promising to give up the tie interceptor.

... and the clock action shows the current time.

An Tie interceptor can equip a modification card (stygium particle accelerator)?
Or to equip this modification card is necessary to have in your action bar the action of cloak?

Or to equip this modification card is necessary to have in your action bar the action of cloak?

It looks like there are two modifications included with the Phantom. The Advanced Cloaking Device is "TIE Phantom only", and it lets you cloak as a free action after you attack.

The general guess about the Stygium Particle Accelerator, which has been only partially spoiled, is that it says something about getting a free evade action when you cloak. That one doesn't seem like it's limited to the TIE Phantom--but it won't have any actual effect unless you can already cloak (because you'll never be able to trigger its effect).

The interceptor can even equip Engine Upgrade and deadeye...

And no ... equipping stygium particle accelerator don't add the phantoms stealth action to its bar.

Maybe there are even more ships with cloaking action in future ...

Vorpal is a sage.
That's what I meant.
If you want to use in another ship (b-wing / tie interceptor etc) tie phantom's "open" modification (stygium particles accelerator) is required (it looks that way) to have a action to cloak in your action bar.
Opens the possibility for have in future a modification that allows the inclusion of cloak action in the action bar.
But this is only my speculation.

Well, 4 defense dice without a focus or evade token isn't actually as good as 2 dice with an evade token...

High PS or Named or EPT capable or recon packing phantoms will almost always choose ACD over Stygian if they can afford it.
I agree. Without the ACD, the sequence of cloak-decloak-attack has to be spread across two successive turns. So ACD literally doubles the number of attacks you can choose to make. But I wanted to put out there that ACD alone doesn't solve all of your problems, because anyone who's flown Interceptors knows that unmodified green dice are fickle and treacherous.(But as far as EPTs go, think about this: the Game Trade article says a cloaked Phantom "may spend its cloak token to decloak during the Activation phase immediately before its owner reveals its maneuver dial." So if Whisper + PTL + Stygian isn't stressed at the start of the turn, it decloaks, which triggers Stygian for a free evade action, which triggers PTL for a second action. Then you reveal your maneuver, which can be green, which eliminates the stress; your perform action step then goes off as usual, giving you a third action.)

No stealth for phantoms if you want either of the mods we're talking about.

I don't recall a stealthed interceptor in source material but royal guard interceptors and many aces modded the crap out of every ship. Don't know where they would fit it in an interceptor but it would certainly help em out- maybe just a cheap mod that lets you start the game cloaked for approach without actually giving them the action?

To clarify one point here, when you say "if Whisper...isn't stressed at the start of the turn," which part of the sequence you suggest would be thrown off by the presence of a stress token?

Does the lt. blount grant an auto ion with ion pulse missiles?

The general guess about the Stygium Particle Accelerator, which has been only partially spoiled,

If you zoom in enough it is quite legible.

"when you either decloak or perform a cloak action, you may perform a free evade action".

This, by the way, confirms that decloaking does not count as an action.

omg ... there is another possible use for this guy

I thought of this, then I began thinking that maybe the Rebels will get a cloaking ship. Then I thought: well, Astromechs are Rebel only so far, so it would be nice if cloaking was Imperial only. If they do one, they better do the other.

It's interesting to note, but it seems likely that an Ionized Phantom will not be able to decloak. Lt. Blount could auto-hit Whisper with an Ion Pulse Missile, put a point of damage through any number of evade dice, and keep it from firing back next turn. Fun times. :-)

I think the way thats worded mean decloak isn't an action. If it was it would say preform a cloak or decloak action. My thought anyway

That's what I said. :P.

Hadn't really thought of that, but if it has that same wording as, say Advanced Sensors - referencing the reveal of a maneuver dial - you could be correct, KO.

I miss read your post. Sorry. °~°

Ugh. Being stuck drifting and cloaked would suck. A lot.

Ugh. Being stuck drifting and cloaked would suck. A lot.

Better than being stuck drifting and UNcloaked. :D

Gamewise, not really. Because you could still possibly attack if you were uncloaked.
