Runebound Card Expansion, Integrate

By GalaxyUC, in Runebound

What is the best way to integrate these card expansions into my existing Runebound game? Specifically Adventures and encounters. I bought 3 new expansions, Avatars, Artifcats and Beast/Bandits. Do I take all the Rise of the Dragon Lords out of the decks and keep in those decks cards that don't have too much flavor text or relevance to the boxed campaign? I don't want to lose the experience, but I want a whole new campaign in there.

Second, these Character Packs? What are these? They seem like they would make the game easier and less challenging? true?

The best way to integrate them is follow the instructions written in the sheet that you receive with the expansion. Artifacts & Allies and Beast and Bandits can simply be shuffled into the respective decks (Market and Challenge cards, matching the colours). Beast and Bandits is a Challenge Card expansion and it is meant to be played in addition to the normal game and story. Along with the usual Margath and Vorakesh minions, you will face some dangerous Beast & Bandits in your quest.

If you want a whole new campaign, you have to choose Adventure Variant Expansions like Avatars of Kelnov. Each one has its own rules and you have to read the instructions to prepare the new game. Some require you to replace one or more base game Challenge card decks and most introduce new rules for game and Endgame. Some of them are pretty cool!

I can't help you with Character Packs. Although I have every single Runebound expansion, I've chosen not to buy them.

That was very helpful in regards to the expansion packs.

Anyone know then what these Character Packs are all about?

Here is a link to a good write up on the character decks helps explain what the decks add. fortressat.com/index.php

Based on reviews I've read, the purpose of the class decks is primarily to increase player versus player interaction. In that regard they make the game harder, I suppose. I'm not planning to get them (not just yet anyway) partly because I'm not sure I want PvP in my game, secondly because in order to use one class deck, you need to have one deck PER PLAYER, since the way they work sort of requires everyone to have the same expanded capabilities. If you just buy one of them to test the waters, you won't get very far.
