Does reinforcements enter spaces?

By Sixko, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Would have been easier if they'd just defined "entering a space" in the rules, but that'll do alright. Thanks for sharing.

I agree this game needs a dictionary of terms of some sort

Yes.

Yes x 2 :) Like the ruling - that's how we play and seems logical to me

So I guess with this ruling them tombles heroic feat does not count as entering get that space, good to know. The implications of this ruling is pretty far reaching

Hey guys, I just got a reply from Nathan from FFG regarding this.

" It’s hard to give a umbrella rule for this, but a good rule of thumb is that if the figure was already on the map when it is placed/moved into a new space, that figure is entering that space. If you are not moving the figure from one space to another, but placing a figure that was not on the map, that figure is not entering that space.[/size]

To answer your particular questions:

Reinforcements are not entering the space.

Heroes that are standing up or reviving are not entering that space.

Ways of Stone (Geomancer) is entering the empty space."

Could you also please post the exact questions you asked, this is important with rulings.

Sure thing, this was the question I sent them:

"Question regarding entering a space:
Apart from movement when does a character/monster count as having entered a space? There are several instances where a figure is "Placed" in a space, for example during overlord reinforcement, hero standup/revive and other skills (geomancers "teleport" skill etc).
In these situations, does the figure count as having entered that space?"

That is an interesting observation. Though they did say that it's just a "Rule of Thumb" and not a blanket statement. My guess is that they would rule Tomble's Heroic Feat as counting as entering the space, but it's hard to say. Probably best to get a clarification.
