Need help on stats for droids and beasts

By toneturbo, in Game Masters

I'm in the middle of campaign where I find myself in need of a few stats to help flesh out a couple of droids and a few creatures found on Ryloth.

I'm looking for help finding stats for the following droids and creatures.

Droids:

Crab droid

Huge crab droid

Creatures:

Can-cell

Doashim

Gutkurr

Rycrit

Depends on how you want to run em, but offhand, maybe....

Crab

Rival

Brawn 3, Agi 3, others 1

Ranged heavy 1, brawl 1, athletic 2, coord 1

Soak 4

WT 13

Abilities: droid stuff

Equip: repeating blaster, dam 7, crit 3, range med, autofire stun setting

Thank you Ghostofman. This is a great suggestion.

I have been doing more homework on these droids since I first posted this based on your recommendations. What do you think of these additions? (in Bold )

Crab (Small - Silhouette 1)

Rival

Brawn 3, Agi 3, others 1

Ranged heavy 1, brawl 1, athletic 2, coord 1

Defense 1

Soak 5

WT 14

Abilities: droid stuff

Metal Forearm Attack (Brawl) ranged (engaged)

5 + damage, crit 4, knockdown, disorient 1

Equip: repeating blaster, dam 8, crit 3, range med, inaccurate, autofire, stun setting

Armorplast shielding (heavy battle armor).

What would you recommend for a huge crab droid (nemesis)?

How "good" your additions are depends heavily on how you run it and what you think it should do. For example I didn't give it heavy battle armor because envision this critter being very active in combat, climbing up walls, popping around corners, darting through underbrush. Heavy armor is a waste in that sense because it's defense bonus won't stack with the cover bonus this guy is gonna have all the time. But if you are going to have it standing out in the open a lot, the heavy armor makes more sense...

For the heavy droid it depends A LOT on what you want it for.

If you're up against PCs on foot, I'd scale it up to Sil 2, increase it's brawn to 4 or 5, and give it a light repeating blaster.

If you want to go up against PCs in a vehicle, Sil 2, switch it to vehicle scale with armor 1, and give it an auto blaster.

I'm actually looking to capture most of the features of the droid as follows:

1) Inaccurate targeting

2) Powerful front leg attacks. Attacks that get worst as the models get bigger.

3) Armor that can deflect blaster bolts. Armorplast shielding is light weigh (but expensive).

4) Reflect the droid using its leg armor to help protect its main body.

5) Mobile in rough terrain (and can climb).

6) Model the vacuum pump system in the bigger models that spray mud/water.

7) The large model (nemesis) can spend strain to take two maneuvers for bursts of speed.

One of my players has Brace so I'm more interested in keeping the heavy armor rather than cover.

I'm trying to make these challenging and threatening, but not make party killers. Here's revised stats for both a medium, and a large crab droid. Both are anti-personnel versions.

Crab (Medium - Silhouette 1)

Rival

Brawn 3, Agi 3, others 1

Ranged Light 1, brawl 1, athletic 2, coord 1

Defense 1

Soak 5

WT 15

Abilities:

Droid stuff

Outdoorsman 1

Bash Attack (Brawl) ranged (engaged)

5 + damage, crit 4, knockdown, disorient 1

Equip: light repeating blaster (SOF), dam 6, crit 3, range med, inaccurate, autofire, stun setting

Armorplast shielding (heavy battle armor).

Crab (Large - Silhouette 2)

Nemesis

Brawn 4, Agi 4, others 1

Ranged Heavy 1, brawl 2, athletic 1, coord 1, adversary 1

Defense 1

Soak 6

Strain 10

WT 20

Abilities:

Droid stuff

Outdoorsman 2

Bash Attack (Brawl) ranged (engaged)

6+ damage, crit 4, knockdown, disorient 2

Sweep attack on triumph - hit all engaged enemies.

Pincer Attack (Brawl) Ranged (engaged)

8 + damage, crit 4, disorient 2, knockdown

Equip: Light Repeating Blaster (core rule book), dam 11+, crit 3, range long, pierce 1, inaccurate , autofire, stun setting

Armorplast shielding (heavy battle armor).

Spray Attack, 3+ damage, crit -- , Blast 4, stun only, disorient 2 (only available when in marshy, muddy or watery terrain) Range (short).
