Looking for Turned Brass Guns to repair a B-Wing.

By Rambler, in X-Wing

Well it finally happened. One of the B-Wings I was loaning to someone to use in the Store Tournament. Came back with a bent barrel. I quickly stuck it in a little baggie so I have both pieces and can probably fix it with a spot of Super Glue but since I also have an X-Wing that is suffering from the same problem. I got to thinking about.

If I could find a source that can provide a decent turned replacement it is probably worth my while to just go ahead and fix it once and fro all. Would also make it more durable as a loaner as well. (Plus I have a roll of these Rare Earth Magnets...)

I've found I could bend some of the barrels back into place. Depends on which ones, you could glue it back on. That might be the best option for it, after all.

I recently broke a gun on one of my B-Wings as well. I was pretty upset about until FFG showed me how to replace it !

Care to enlighten us... would be nice to know in case I have the same issue

Easy Rebel Aces :/

2 of the guns on one of my B-Wings broke as well (top and left), I repaired both with a paperclip.

Don't get me wrong, it does show if you now what to look for as the detailling is much too hard to reproduce

but the guns usually don't draw that much attention. You can add some details with a drop of superglue and an x-acto.

On a side note, next time you get a bent barrel, you can try to heat the resin (hairdryer) before straightening, this should reduce the odds of breakage.

yeah was going to say paper clip, needle, etc... or browse modeling forums. they actually make turned gun barrels but are probably too big scale wise...

There are lots of choices in turned brass barrels in the naval model realm, just search for them.
