What Proton Rockets are!

By KCDodger, in X-Wing

I like the quasi-capital ship idea from turbolasers. Say:

Proton Rockets:

Attack - 6

Range - 2-3

Spend a target lock to use this card. Small base ships gain + 4 agility, large base ships +2, and unmodified focus results cancel hits as well. Capital ships are affected as normal. Then discard this card.

Proton Bombs

Attack - 6

Range - 1

Only capital ships may be targeted with this weapon.

Mwhahaha die falcons!

What I'm REALLY curious about..... will it be a missile, a torpedo, or count as both?

Well, since it has the missile icon on the card, I'd say missile.

A missile of course.

Why are you asking?

Im more curious about wether it produces crits, has a blast area or will shields be ignored ...

A 'crits ignore shields' rule would be really cool with Maarek.

And considering it is being included in Rebel Aces perhaps it can give us an idea of what they may be planning for the Imperial huge ships as well.

I hope you are right!

Played a bit of TIE Fighter last night, and had one mission with the opportunity to use these against some CR90s in a TIE Avenger. Pretty sure two of them can snap a CR90 in half, one will blow away the shields and hurt the hull.

If they don't work as magical wunderweapons against Huge ships I'll be disappointed, because it's the second weapon from the sims that doesn't work the way it should here on the tabletop. Advanced Proton Torpedoes were certainly longer range than the tabletop suggests... in fact... Advanced Proton torpedoes pretty well fit Heavy Rocket performance.

Ah, duh, well then that answers that. :D

Z-95's just became the new preferred Heavy Bombers against capital ships! (LOL?)
