Is it my imagination, or did the “Prototype Veteran” card from Rebel Aces just change its name to “A-Wing Test Pilot?”

Was I imagining the Prototype Veteran card to begin with? I swear that was its name before.

The name and text of the PS5 B-Wing pilot also seems to have changed, and whether it was deliberate or not, the new picture of the card spread moved some upgrade cards so we can no longer see as much text on them.

I love it too and it will be seeing a lot of use but uggh a wing test pilot sounds terrible lol. I picture crash test dummies in the cockpit.

Proton Rocket (almost certainly) and the A-Wing test pilot is the new name for what was Prototype Veteran yesterday.

As for the name change, I suspect it may have been because it was too easy to confuse Prototype Veteran with Prototype Pilot when discussing the cards. I know I did that a couple times yesterday.

also the prototype pilot cant even take the prototype veteran card, I think thats why they changed it. Because that's very confusing.

Yeah, that is pretty much the picture in my head...an A-Wing plowing into a wall at high speed as the crash dummy's head snaps forward. And of course the head has the little black and yellow chekered pattern.

Which, come to think of it, is on a few rebel helmets anyway...

Really?? Test pilots used to be the elite of the elite and cooler than cool. Chuck Yeager for instance. In the green lantern comics Hal Jordan was written as a test pilot because test pilots were known to be so bad to the bone.

Yeah, I know that it makes sense conceptually. I just can't help but think of the crash dummies, though. Like I said, those checkered helmets...

Farlander is going to be such a beast...He will bring tears to everyone's eyes. Whether tears of joy or sorrow will depend on what faction you play.

On the one hand: FFG have so far not produced much in the way of an overpowered pilot. You could make a case for Academy Pilot being overpower, I personally feel the names YT1300s are a bit overpowered, but nothing unacceptable.

On the other hand: It's hard to think of a way he isn't massively more powerful than anyone else - reds basically every turn (insanely handy on a BWing) and a focused attack, jeez!

So one hand makes me have faith in FFG, the other hand makes me think he's too strong. Maybe that adds up to him being changed before release.

I went through roughly the same thought process. FFG has been very good for the most part with their pilot abilities, but this is pretty solid. It will become the ultimate in action economy if combined with PTL. Barrel roll, PTL to lock, and then use the stress on attack. Or take another focus and save that for defense. Either way, three actions every turn if you want it, and no stress left over. Pretty boss.

My main problem with Farlander is that poor Maarek is less useful than he is. I mean they are both the heroes of their respective games, they should both have awesome abilities (Maarek would be awesome if he had 3 reds).
