Do I need Age of Rebellion?

By Tamati Khan, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

If it were me I'd ditch the fluff about Slave I's origins or rewrite it slightly rather than revamp the whole time period of my campaign or adventure.

Remember the Golden Rule of RPG Canon: the person who dictates canon at your table is not Lucas or Disney or JJ Abrams or FFG. It's you. You have the final say if something suits you or not. Don't like something from Wookieepedia? Throw it out! Want Daleks on Courscant? Exterminate away, baby!

The Firespray production/prototype fluff is BS written by an ignorant EU writer (actually isn't this from the video game? Still, ignorance) in a sad attempt to make Jango Fett seem even more really really cool and unique and awesome....

The story line works fine in whatever media it's presented I'm sure, but overall it makes no sense on about a dozen different levels.

They are both absolutely 100% correct.

Your games canon is defined by you.

Rather than multi-quote I'll just thank you all for your comments.

I'm well aware that if I wanted to, I could have the USS Defiant as the Rebel command ship. It's actually bigger than Tantive IV and my favourite starship from Star Wars/Trek. Gandalf the Grey could be training his Jedi Padawan Frodo in the Jedi Temple while Dr Who tries to negotiate peace between the Shadows and Vorlons.

Ok, that was a bit of an extreme example, but I wouldn't mind including the Defiant.

My preciousssss

:D

The more I'm exposed to this system the more I like it.

I've already got notes with careers and specialties for Trek.

I look forward to hearing more about your "Edge of the Federation". Though if I had to choose, I'd go for the "Age of Dominion" for the second book.

I have two of LUGTreks settings TNG and DS9 plus multiple sourcebooks and Spacedock.

Something for the future though. My current aim is to help my FLGS bootstrap EotE/AoR into local popularity.

Ohh. A defiant looking vehicle would the schiznit. It's one of my favorite as well.

Well, there is the Loronar E-9 Explorer-Class from Enter The Unknown.

And if that's not to your liking, I suppose the Ghtroc 720 would do in a pinch.

Oh yeah, the E9 is on top of my FFG official ship want list. I'm just waiting until we can upgrade our ship to convince the others to get one.,

I'm in love!

She must be the lovechild of the Millennium Falcon and Defiant.

Still not as good as Defiant though.

In my Beyond the Rim game, my players have an E-9.

I really do describe it as something from Star Trek. Complete with Abram lens flares. (no hate.)

The ships is spiffy. A good starting ship that doesn't look like a junker I think.

Changing the dates on my timeline has actually really improved things. Think I've got a good plot developing and all it meant was bringing Tamati Khan's date of birth forward a few years. He's now 31 in 2 BBY, rather than 19 BBY. Strangely enough, he is born a year before the Battle of Naboo. Meaning that my character literally grows up with Star Wars history as seen in the movies.

Edit: You'll be pleased to hear that I have ignored the Wookieepedia page about the Firespray. It plays a role in the background as I must have one.

Oh, poor Shadows and Vorlons. The Doctor eats Great Old Ones like that for breakfast. . . .
