Good stuff.
They deserve it!
Good news!
Good job!!!
Personally, I'm more stoked that FATE Core did as well as it did, though a large part of that was the fact that WotC's not released anything major for D&D in a while due to their focus on D&DNext.
Still, hopefully FFG can keep that momentum for 2014. I doubt they'll ever hit the top spot (Pathfinder is simply too big of a juggernaut thanks to the 3.X crowd, and D&DNext is scheduled for release later this year), but staying in the Top 3 is nothing to be ashamed of.
It's amazing in itself that this almost indie system (a.i. it's not d20, Traveller, etc) is such a hit. I hope FFG's system is in for the long haul and we are still seeing new stuff, even if not Star Wars, a decade from now.
I would say their chances are very good if they maintain the license as the new movies come out. That's going to be a major Star Wars movie every year starting Dec 2015 for 6 years. It's going to be Star Wars all day, every day, second half of this decade.
I've played every system prior to this one (D6, D20, Saga) and I can say definitively that FFG has finally crafted a Star Wars RPG that captures the setting: in terms of the dice mechanics, the narrative play, and the understanding of the setting/era.
Great work guys!
Anyone have numbers of how many copies of EoE have sold? Just curious.
I am also curious about how many copies have been sold..
I personally hope to see Edge of the Empire, Age of Rebellion and Force and Destiny on this list at the same time. Hopefully above 'crapfinder' ![]()
I doubt we will see any numbers. Most companies keep these things under wraps. I'm just glad to see the game doing well as I hope it means they keep the license for a long time.
It's great to see that they're doing so well. Hopefully this will translate into more content. I'll be happy to give them my money.
Yeah. With any luck they will be able to renegotiate with Disney easily enough.
Disney did say that they wouldn't change existing contracts, but FFG simply can't extend the license. When the time comes, FFG will need to renegotiate/reapply by the sound of things. Hopefully it will not cause any hiccups.

I am also very happy for FATE's progress. I was a KS for it and really enjoy playing. But truth be told, it just lacks for crunch. While I like a rules lite system, I do need a little crunch.
On of the things that just amazes me about FFG's Star Wars games are that they are solid crunchy games with lots of rules and such, but somehow they made it feel and play like a rules lite system.
As for D&D. With Pathfinder going strong and games like 13th Age stepping up, I really don't see D&D maintaining dominance for too much longer. While every games system always gains a following of some kind regardless if it is any good, D&D 4th was pretty bad not just in game rules, but in product production (my first copy had 23 FULL PAGES OF TEXT for ERRATA! Yes, 23 pages). They pretty much spent all of their Brand credit.

Unless FFG really screws something up, this will wind up being one of the big lines in the RPG world. And I doubt FFG is going to mess this up. While many people may disagree with small things FFG is doing or not doing (myself included), in the long run they are driving the boat and they have been doing a spectacular job of it.

Absolutely. In fact (don't shoot me anyone), even though I do not consider their worlds anything alike, this system could also be great with a DS9 or TNG game.

We'll see FATE's numbers. Evil Hat Games religiously posts its sales figures on their site.
