The theory behind this has worked well so far. I have had variations with a rebel captive instead of determination and replaced nightbeast with Black Squadron Pilot and DTF (to help protect howl)
Now I know on the guide it had stated that putting extra points into a doom shuttle can hinder you severely. I have to agree with that post however I have found that Vader can be a clutch against interceptors like soontir. With the added maneuverability of engine upgrade and advance sensors you can keep those guys in your firing arc sacrificing 4 damage for 2 critical (hopefully 1 Direct hit) and to me thats worth it. My shuttle has always died but that added damage can come late game or early, I choose to use vader when I need him (often it helps).
The squad excels at taking out bounty hunters, low hull ships, and x-wings. I do get some trouble from Yt's but usually they take 2 turns to kill.
I haven't versed a swarm yet however with Vader I think I have the damage potential to chew threw it.
Nightbeast is in favor over darkcurse and winged gundark only because of the free focus action, which can come in handy on that first pass where I can evade/barrel roll depending on the situation. It has also helped against sensor jammer.
I plan on taking this list to a tournament today and will see how well it plays today.
Here are my shuttle variations and I would like to hear what you think
