Ibtisam and elusiveness

By KILODEN, in X-Wing Rules Questions

If, when attacked, he uses elusiveness and gains a stress token, can he then reroll 1 defense die even though he did not have the stress token at the time of the attack.

I am thinking yes, because you modify tbe attack dice before you roll defense dicd.

Am i right, or wrong.

Thanks

This is exactly how this interaction works. Once it is time to modify her own dice, she has gained a stress.

However, of all of the stress-inducing EPTs, Elusiveness is the worst.
If your opponent has focused, you only have a 1/4 chance of reducing a Hit to a Non-Hit, while having a 1/8 chance of turning it into a Crit.
If they've managed to roll a Crit, that gives you a 7/8 chance of improving the die, but 5/8 of those would result in a Hit(/focus)

Push the Limit, Daredevil, and Opportunist are all superb on Ibtisam.

You will know if the other ship has a focus.

Other than that it can generate a miss that neither Howlrunner nor TL can reroll so it is a better miss:)
