Convention Scenarios

By ChocoCoveredGm, in Game Masters

Greetings,

I am planning on running EotE at our local convention this summer and was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on available scenarios that would fit into a 4 hour session and be directed towards new folk. I am already looking at Under a Black Sun as one... anyone got ideas?

Thanks in advance!

You could likely get through Escape from Mos Shuuta but Long Arm of the Hutt is probably a bit much for 4 hours.

The GM Screen comes packaged with an excellent adventure that could be completed in about 3:30 hours, which gives you a good 30 minutes to explain the rules to your players and introduce them to their characters. It's called "Debts to Pay".

The PCs have to seek an audience with a Hutt, Explore a mining facility where everything has horribly gone wrong, hopefully save the day, and pay the Hutt his money.

It's a nice, self contained adventure that you could easily spawn an entire campaign off of, especially if the PCs mess things up.

Thanks for the suggestions! Will be testing out Under a Black Sun and Debts to Pay over the next 2 weeks.

Happy Gaming!

You may also want to check out "Enemy of My Enemy" as penned by GM Chris of the Order 66 podcast.

it's a three-part module, with each part designed to be run as convention slot, and takes around 3 hours per Act. You could probably just run the first Act, tweaking a couple things towards the end so that the adventure resolves itself. Or, you could run multiple slots at the convention, with each slot being one part of the overall adventure. Only problem with that approach is that you could wind up with a very different set of players each time who could then take the pre-gens in very different directions.

I'll also plug my scenario "Hunters and Hunted," which I wrote for the Star Wars Game Day.
