Adventure Idea Advice - The Darkness of the Empires Edge

If you are part of the 'Athena Games' Star Wars RPG group, do not read on. Or for that matter if you are a player in ANY game, don't read on. GMs, please continue and offer advice.

I recently started a brand new group at my Friendly Local Game Store. We just got through part of the Beginner game adventure "Escape from Mos Shuuta". I'm a GM who likes to interlink stories and create interesting plots which build up and up. That in mind I have made some changes to current adventures and here's what I'll be running:

Long Arm of the Hutt: The players will find that not only is Teemo collecting Battledroids, but he is also delivering them to the Imperials via a contact, Lieutenant Herkin. Previously Teemo was investigated by an Agent of the Empire, who was captured, interrogated and delivered to Herkin...but not to be returned to the Empire. The players proceed through the quest as normal, encountering another Imperial Agent who is investigating what Teemos connection to the Empire is. They kill Teemo as usual, but not after hearing about his contact.

Hunter and Hunted: In this player made adventure, the players follow Herkin to a clan of Twi'lek hunters, one of them is hosting illegal hunting games, the previous Imperial Agent was sent here and was killed during one of these hunts. Herkin slips the net, but the players foil the plans of the hunter and reveals his deception to the clan.

The players do another adventure, probably my 'Steal the X-Wing Plans' adventure.

Following that they are contacted by the Imperial Agent who explains that he has heard that not only Herkin has appeared at a Shadowport, but he also had the Imperial Agents ex partner, a Human Replica Droid called IN-GA 44 in tow, impossible since she was destroyed in a previous mission. The Players proceed to the Shadowport and capture Herkin who is now alone and interrogates him, finding out that he works for General Kray Tarlor.

Tarlor has resurrected the recently foiled Darktrooper project in secret from the Empire and has been using Teemo and the Hutt Crime Syndicates resources to acquire and research other combat droids, IN-GA being one of them, One of the PC players who is an Assassin Droid was being transported to Teemo when he was liberated by the team, presumably was also going to be used for the same process. The results of this is the Darktrooper Mk IV which Tarlor has constructed in secret from the Empire in hopes of using it to usurp power from the Emperor. In return for his assistance, Teemo would have gained Darktroopers to help in his own bid for power within the Crime Syndicate.

The Imperial Agent and the players infiltrate the research base, the agent splitting away to find proof of Tarlors portrayal while the team attempt to destroy the factory and any constructed Darktroopers.

After an encounter with the reconstructed IN-GA 44 and eventually Tarlor accompanied by his new Darktroopers, they destroy the base and part ways with the agent, although they are criminals of the Empire. The agent maintains that they are blow his paygrade and it's not his duty to take them in. His way of thanking them for their assistance.

Yes this does compact the canon of the Darktrooper incident from a year into a few months after the Battle of Yavin. It shouldn't impact canon heavily though.

Thoughts?

Jahan Cross's IN-GA 44?

Owch if thats the agent you killed off! :(

Sounds otherwise fine though! :)

Have you thought about leaving a subplot or two open say for example indications a few of the darktroopers had already been transported offworld somewhere or have a couple of the minions from the above games reappear revealing they had more involvement in what was going on than previously thought?

Who replaced Teemo?

Someone probably acted as a go between him and the Imperial so what if they took over this deal and its now being run through a different system?

Maybe have your PCs targetted by bountyhunters revealing someone thought they were onto them and panicked when they turned up...

Better yet have a spaceport where they're currently at attacked by whats assumed to be unknown attackers and have your PCs see evidence that links back to the Darktrooper project... I wonder how they'd react to that?

Haha! No, Jahan is actually the second Imperial Agent in the adventure, the one who works with the team.

It's a similar set up to the Bond film Octopussy where an agent in the field is killed while doing his investigating and Jahan is then sent in to investigate. Actually Licence to Kill is perhaps a better example, the agents friend (who is also an agent) is killed or mauled and the agent goes against orders to revenge.
