Regionals in Tyler? Really?

Why would it?
Why would that reduce it. Drive there with your buddies. Seriously we travel all the time up here. Seems like most expect a regional in their backyard. That's a bit silly.
I'm not really complaing for me personally. I live less than two hours out from Tyler making it an easy day trip. DFW is the only place where that's true though. Every other metropolitan center in region 5 (excepting Shreveport - and they only count as a metropolitan center in Lousiana) has to go to Dallas and then go another 90 minutes to get to Tyler. It just doesn't make sense.
Edited by cetikenI don't mind it being in Tyler necessarily (I live in DFW), at least its closer and more centrally located than Tulsa. And if you look at it it is a pretty central place for AR/LA as well as San Antonio, Austin, etc.
It is a little odd that they picked such a small city though. Not to demean anything but Tyler is barely on the map in Texas. I'd bet most people who saw that on the list had to actively Google it to know where it was (including some people who live in Texas). I would still contend it would have made more sense to me for our region if Dallas and Houston/Austin/SanAntonio had been picked seeing as those cities are about as centrally located as it gets given how they divided up the regions, but it could have been worse.
The funny thing is I know of at least 8 playgroups in DFW that have at least 6-8 people that will all have to travel to the middle of nowhere to play. When you have two major cities so near each other, it really doesn't make a whole lot of sense to not pick one or the other. But I think that has much more to do with Team Covenant favoritism than it does logic.

The size of the regions are pretty retarded in the first place. Game is no where near big enough to expect people to drive more than a couple hours, let alone crossing state lines and/or having to take a plane. Forget that, not interested in going to the regional events.
