Monroeville Regionals

By Khyros, in X-Wing Organized Play

So, who's all going? I know I'm excited to head out there, and the fact that it's the first weekend is sweet... Nothing like getting the swag before everyone else! We should post where we're staying so we can try to take over an entire hotel.

I used to live in the area, so I'll go ahead and say that Mr. Nice Guy Games is located on the mall drive, which there is a bus that services. There's also a bus that services the airport. Not saying it would be easy, but it should be possible to take public transportation from the airport to the game store.

Who's up for grabbing some grub or something afterwards?

I'll be there for sure. I live in Pittsburgh. If anyone wants to get some casual games in that weekend let me know. And its right outside the Mall so I'll grab a bite to eat with anyone who wants to.

I do believe a few of us will be attending from the NOVA area!

I'm planning to attend from the NYC area and hoping to lure some other local players to make the trek as well.

Sweet. Just to give you guys the lowdown. It's a brand new store. The Store Championship only had 7 people but it was the first xwing event the new store ever ran. They hadn't even had a chance to run any gameday tournaments at that point. There are about 30 local Pittsburgh players who play competitively at two locations that I know of. And there is another group that plays in Morgantown WV (about an hour away) that has about 15 or 20 that plays competitively. And I'm guessing they will get players from all over Ohio. So the turnout should be pretty decent. I'm also trying to recruit some casual player / friends from Erie PA and VA.

The store is right outside the Mall. The Monroville Mall (the original dawn of the dead mall). And there are hotels right there. Its a pretty big store and can support a lot of players (I'm guessing they could probably have 60 games going at once).

I'm hoping to make it out. I'll actually be in the area for a business trip next week, if anyone's interested in a friendly.

So I just heard back from the store, they will not be doing preregistration, which kinda sucks, but whatever. I might be able to lure a few folks from the Michigan scene down to it as well. Also, in leui of the standard Taco Bell fast food lunch, I highly suggest stopping at Sheetz / MTO (I think they recently renamed themselves). Their food is the best gas station food ever.

Yeah I'm not sure why they are not doing pre-reg. I guess they don't do pre-reg for any of their events. The only thing I can say is that the store has a huge capacity and they will not run out of space. Also, i'd bring your own playmats.

And I can vouch for sheets lol. And there is one pretty close to the store.

I'm coming...8hrs out starting from Norfolk, Va.

Thing that sucks...pretty much none of the other locals are up for the drive, so they're bowing out. I'm the only one hardcore enough.

I'll be bringing...

TANTIVE IV Swarm

CR90 Corvette x 8

I swear!
