Unique cards

By Covered in Weasels, in Android: Netrunner Rules Questions

Hello all,

Can the Corp have more than one copy of a unique card installed at the same time, so long as no more than one copy is rezzed at once? For example, could I have two copies of Wotan installed face down protecting different servers? If this is not allowed, how would the runner know that the Corp is illegally playing two face-down copies of the same unique card?

I believe this is OK... but would defer to claim absolute knowledge. As to knowing if the Corp player is being honest... this game relies on huge amounts of trust and sportsmanship. i.e. My starting corp hand after mulligan is 3 agendas and two operations, what stops me from installing the agendas as ICE on my three centrals and never choosing to rez them only to later replace with legit ice sending them face down to archives to be Action-Jackson'd back into HQ!?!?!? Same can be said of a less than honest Runner who hits a snare in HQ and does not let the Corp player know then uses indexing to move it on the next run!!!

You can only have one copy of a unique card active at any one time. When installed, but unrezzed, the card is inactive and it is fine to have multiples installed.

Any unique cards rezzed when there is already one active will cause the "original" to be trashed.

Which can be an interesting (but risky) way to save Director Haas - if you have a second copy installed and unrezzed, as long as the runner runs the rezzed one, you can rez the other before they access and deny them the trash/score :P

Of course, if they run the unrezzed one first you're boned ;)

There have been times where I had to use my rezzed Jackson Howard for recursion, in order to Rez and use my unrezzed copy which is about to be accessed (and trashed).
