Anyone do any z95 swarm vs tie swarm yet?

Hi Everyone,

I don't have enough ships for it. But since they have revealed the basic stats and upgrades of a Z-95 already. I'm sure someone out their has already played a game with this type of battle.

I would love to hear how it went?

I have. An 8-ship Z-95 swarm was slowly ground down by a 7-ship Howlrunner swarm (not a fun play experience for either side); a 5-ship Z-95 "swarm" with various missiles made a moderately successful alpha strike and then basically played the same Howlrunner swarm to a draw.

Without a Howlrunner or similar significant buff, the Z95 swarm will be significantly weaker. If the missile alpha strike doesn't clear they table, they will lose every time to a skilled swarm player. It's also impossible to accurately playtest without knowing the Z95 dial. It will, without a doubt, be far less maneuverable than the TIE fighters, which will cause more problems for it.

Out of curiosity, did you keep track of the dice rolls and check the stats to see how "lucky" each side was?

Very true on both accounts. Although the Z-95 should have a 1 straight, like the X-wing, which would be a small advantage. Pure speculation, but maybe it has a 1 red turn like the B-wing.

Has anyone tried that E-Wing crits ability along side 4/5 Z-95? It seems like that might boost damage output enough to make a difference. There's 20 points left over after the 4th Z-95, could be used on another Z and some upgrades for the E, or missiles and PS for the Zs.

What dial did you use for the Headhunters?

Maybe we will see some bbbbz :)

Be interesting to see how a 8 Z and 6 Z w/missiles do against a swarm without Howl.

I don't think we have enough information about the Z95s to test an all Headhunter squad against a Tie Swarm. Too many unknowns still.
