Regionals Dates and Locations are up!

That's the point. The new Regionals are supposed to be special events. The motivation isn't the prizes (though, I will admit, I am jealous of those translucent dice), but the competition. And the prestige. You have a little bit more to brag about if you win a 7-8 round, 64 player Regional vs a 4 round, 16 player Store Championship.

I'm not going to lie, travelling these distances to play, even if you have no chance of winning, is FUN. Especially in this game, where the environment is not noxiously competitive. Adding money (though I imagine those dice and Lukes will go for a bit), just ruins the fun.

No Mexico until the update, what a pitty, greettings.

Only going to one regional at Kublacon in Burlingame Ca.....cost $200 for the hotel room for the weekend and $40 for the con badge for the weekend.

I'll likely try to attend the Kublacon one as well. My only other option, realistically, is Spokane, and that choice is far less palatable then simply not attending them.

At least with Kublacon I get to attend a pretty sweet event as well.

I really hope this doesn't become a trend. I've had quite a lot of fun with FFG's events, but any that are that far out of the way are just unrealistic for me.

So where will Nationals be???

Gencon as usual.

Are the Regionals limited to 64 players? I pre-registered for KublaCon, and it said 64 players on their website. Additionally, the Regional in Arizona said they're only registering 64 players too.

How did you find out about AZ registration? I looked online and didn't see anything.

For all you South Western region: registration for the AZ location is done via phone, not FB. $10 up front. 19 slots taken of the 64 available FYI for an event in late June. Still can't believe there is no SoCal location...

I have seen all this...and saw the results.....I just hope that FF does a little better with the siting next year.

I can not afford allot....thus never making Gencon or Origins...but I do enjoy the store tourneys and would have tried for a Regional if it were not beyond my means due to distance and expense.....and on the off chance I won...I think I would have got myself to worlds with that kind of incentive. But living in the PNW region...both sites were 6+ hours away and then would have had to come up with lodging.

I think they should look at the populations as well as central locating.....like the one guy posted Portland and Spokane/Boise. That way you provide access to the inner states plus give the coastal states a somewhat central location. Portland/Vancouver, WA has great venues for this. I know that Dice Age in Vancouver has hosted tourneys for Pokemon that are in excess of 80 people..and though a little cramped...they have gone well.. A 64 person X-Wing tourney would be doable....though it may take some good planning to have room for 32 games at one time.

I just hope that FF keeps in mind the fervor generated this year when siting 2015
