Rust Buckets, Assemble! My repainted Rebels
A-Wing and HWK are fantastic, I desperately need to clean up my rebs and do a little weathering myself!
Inspiring work mate, you should be proud! Moar pls
What did you do on the engines of the HWK? I played around with mine a little yesterday, but wasn't very happy with the result.

It was rather easy - just a blue basecoat, drybrush with lighter blue, a dark blue wash, and then drybrush up to white..
But thanks for the awesome comments!
Looks like the rebellion has indeed fallen on hard times. I love it. Nice job on the weathering.
OH MAH GAAAAWD THAT'S AWESOOOOOME!
very nice indeed
Jon,
that is, hands down, the best HWK-290 I have seen thus far. I have been wanting to repaint mine but was lacking in inspiration. I think you just gave me that inspiration
Thank you,
Chris
A-Wing and HWK are fantastic,
Exactly what I was thinking. They all look great, but these two are of a whole different caliber
"You came in those things? You're braver than I thought..."
HWK and teh B-Wing are my favs! very nice!
Great paint schemes! The overall feel of them is nice, great synergy in colors.
You are quite talented. They all look great.

(golf clap)
Wow - im totally awed by all these positive comments!! Im really hard on myself sometimes, and think the HWK is the worst of the bunch, but it seems like im wrong
You have really given me the best welcome a guy could want, and i want to paint more and post it..
But once again, thanks so much!
-Jon
You'll find many of us do repaints, and we also like looking at other peoples repaints and re mods... look through the old posts.. there are some impressive threads.
We could use a forum specifically for them though... until then... we search.. lol.
Jon, I hate you!!!!
I love that B-wing!! How did you go about flipping it on its side like that?
I've been wanting to do it to one of mine but Im not sure how to go about cutting...its not very big so Im worried id lose to much plastic
I just realized your lovely blue squad B-wing is sitting on a Dagger squad pilot chit......oh the humanity :-P

It was a rather simple conversion - the clear plastic peg which goes into the engine block snaps off rather easy.. I just twisted it a bit, and it fell right off.. Then i trimmed to remainder, and painted it blog - its barely visible now.. Then i drilled a hole in the center wing, and glued the clear peg there.. The last thing to do is cut the cockpit of, and rotate it. It is glued together just behind the canopy from the factory, and with a sharp knife and some force, you can seperate them just there.. And then it is just a matter of gluing it back on in the right angle
Oh and yes, i have noticed the Dagger blooper.. I hoped you would not
-Jon
Holy . . . freaking . . . CRAP!!!
These repaints are AWESOME!!
Thanks Millenium Falsehood! It really means alot..
Regarding how i modded the B-wing, i have begun work on my second B-wing.. It is now ready for painting:
I have deliberatly chosen a different pose for it. I have done this to simulate how the B-wing is a maneuveralbe, cockpit spinning fighter
I hope to be able to begin painting on it tonight - but how to paint it? I have thought about painting it with blue details as the first one, but maybe a different color?

For constancy, I would experiment with the same colours - pick out some different panels and try to make the weathering unique versus the other B.
Stunning work, I really must touch up all of my stuff.
