Tough Outer Shell..... oh crap!!!

By chinese boxer, in UFS General Discussion

Hey guys,

So here I am playing Ivy, and preparing to launch a multitude of attacks at my opponent untill what hits the table but Tough Outer Shell.... and than things go from great to really bad for me. It seems that TOS really hates Ivy, and the feellings mutual. What can I do to get around this horrible card? I'm currently playing her off life , but would gladly switch to either all or void if I can find an answer to deal with TOS. I know Olcandan is the general antidote to most troublesome foundations, but there must be other ways to deal with this foundation that runs off of one of Ivy's usable symbols. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Let's see, I can think of - No Forgiveness, Chester's Backing, Prankster, and A Beautiful Nightmare. ABN kinda requires getting it down beforehand though, so it's not as good.

nah, Lloyd and Ivy get along just fine.

man I hate when one abbrieviation means different things.

Heel Snipe totally shuts it down!!!!

Heel Snipe... well, it would if we were worrying about the E on TOS, but I'm pretty sure the concern here is its anti-card draw First F, no?

Yet another reason to run at least 3-of Seal of Cessation...

void has
prankster
experienced combatant
dead for one thousand years
a beautiful nightmare

all has
prankster
chester's backing

i will check what life has later

Eh, as much as I hate to say it...

Blood Runs True does a good job of stopping it from hitting the table. Since Ivy runs a bunch of tiny attacks, I'm gonna have to agree with RockStar; Seal of Cessation seems about perfect for her.

No Foregiveness

Nakaruru + foundation destruction support

Freezing execution

and a ton of CC hax, which can be an answer for anything.

Olcadan's Mentoring?

0/6+0L Asset that lets you destroy an opponents foundation and give them an other foundation that is less annoying.

and what's the danger with TOS against Ivy?

she requires alot of her R usage off her many pokes so she doesnt shut down when she runs out of cards in her hand

ok then... now I see the problem.

but even if you can't draw cards to gather new attacks, can't you just use the foundation Soul that Protects to bounce them back at your last attack anyway till you do score the kill?

TOS prevents any sort of anything going to your hand

of geez -.-;;

I see the details after being scolded... usual to happen to me... not complaining 'reading is fundamental'

Well, you can always try to kill before they get it out...

That has been my philosophy for quite some time.

*sheds a tear for promo adon*

The danger is shutting down her draw ability -- this is Ivy playing AGAINST Tough Outer Shell

I like that someone caught the Tales of Symphonia link before me :P
