Black Squadron Pilots

By SoulCrusherEx, in X-Wing

well as u can read, this Topic is abouth the black squadron pilots we didnt so far like black 8 Lieutenant Tanbris.

black 11 called wampa the one that was known for icy precission in battle and known as vaders escort.

the St 321 pilot clled villian dance that has a big background story.

and the one that really deserves to be in the if we see this happen battle of yavin expansion

Qorl who got shot down 3 times over the yavin moons lived 23 years in the forests who fought luke twice was known for high pilot skills that even han admired once.

he has a really sad story and i left a few tears there and there that man needs to be in this game !! HE DESERVES IT !!!

the sources u see are here about qorl

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Qorl

the black squadron members souce

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Black_Squadron

Edit: we already have from the black squadron, dark curse, mauler mithel and backstabber

from the obsidian squadron we already got winged gundark, nightbeast and howlrunner but no other obsidians left to pick from obisidian 8 and 10 have no further info just where they served but no name or abilities special enough.

just sayin i think that our Qorl or Qorly is the porkins for the empire

SCE,

those are all very interesting and should be made into custom pilot cards. What do you think their Pilot Skill and abilities should be (or do you think that the current Black Squadron Pilot card will suffice)?

Also, you may want to take a moment to proof read what you write before you hit "Post". I offer this advice based on my own, ample history of failing to do just that.

Really interested in seeing your (and others) ideas!

Chris

Backstabber and Mauler Mitchell were Vader's escorts.

Does anyone else call him Mauler Mithril?

Qorl should be PS8 and should read When Qorl is shot down, remove this pilot card from your collection for 23 years

HAH!

Backstabber and Mauler Mitchell were Vader's escorts.

those 2 were his wingmen not escort an escort is a fighter or light vehicle like tank that escorts a transport vehicle or ship in this case like the shuttle a wingmen are fighters in a squadron that fly in a specific formation with thier squad leader

chris i posted up the links ot the squadron pilots ^^ they appeared in many books and comics

+ i think that qorl should have a pilot skill of 8 proof of his good piloting skills in his young years and later on

and that his pilot ability should be called field repairs one time per game usable

effect: after he got shot down the controlling player can roll every planing phase an attack die on a hit result qorl comes back to live with 1 hull back to the game. place him on any edge u want the controlling player can chose where to put him but one time usable. would make sence with his story after he got shot down many times and surived all of them !! + his high field repair skills.

maybe we could make it like this the player rolls attack dices after he got back to game any hit result gives back 1 hull but i think coming back with ps 8 and 1 hull is ok enough dont know what do u think ^^ ?

Cool stuff... add them to the Imperial War Machine supplement that will fix the Advanced, add new pilots to it, interceptors, and ties, as well as provide new technological advances (modifications)... and we're good to go.

would like to well we dont know about black 8 and black 11 the wampa who was known for being ice cold and super precise in fighting in dogfights and such.

we could see black 8 and maybe even wampa in other tie variants other then the normal tie but qorl must be in a tie or in the Assault Shuttle a larger lambda variant later in the 2nd Empire the remnant era of the empire. but i want him in a tie

BLack 11 Wampa as Tie fighter pilot in the next aces expansion pls

his ability should be if he attacks enemy he automaticly target locks the defending pilot

he should be worth 17 points with ps 7.

Qorls ps 8 18 points, his ability should be after he got shot down roll in any phase 1 attack die on a hit result he comes back to the game with 1 hull left ( one time usable ). well that ability would fit him pretty good being a good pilot, being good in field repairs and that he got shot down numerous times without dieng once

"Wampa" was in the reconstituted black squadron at Endor (he's Vader's escort 'then'). I'd like to see him, and - presumably - his ability would involve either making use of or shedding stress. (Since we've got someone who can shed stress as offensive focus, why not someone who can shed stress as an evade token?)

Quorl definitely deserves to be in too. His main thing is, I guess, not dying; yes, all right, there's the survivor-on-yavin bit but his main achievement is surviving critical damage to his fighter and nursemaiding it into a landing despite it being mostly on fire.

I agree with the idea of a survival special skill.

Fel's Wrath has already co-opted the "I don't Die Just Yet" (and frankly with an interceptor's guns will achieve more with it), but something to delay dying would be good. Maybe something like "Quorl cannot be destroyed by an attack unless he had been reduced to 1 hit point prior to that attack" - stopping you one-shotting or crit-killing him, or else, as suggested, a last ditch 'evade save'.

I would suggest there's no reason for Quorl to be PS8. Mauler Mithel was Black Squadron's best pilot. That's why he was DS-61-2 and flew wing for the Badass with the Asthma. Mithel is PS7. Other Black Squadron named guys, therefore, should stick at PS6 (that's still better than Biggs and generic Red Squadron).

Tanbris wasn't a pilot at Yavin but he was a pilot previously.

Possible TIE pilots worth mentioning:

Black Eight Squadron - Darth Vader's 'personal shennanigans' unit from Force Unleashed. Presumably the force which ultimately became Black Squadron, so whether you want them to be a seperate entity is a fair question. Interestingly, Black Eight operated bombers, too, so PS6, EPT bombers would be cool. Especially if you made a 'Black Eight Squadron' pilot for both fighter and bomber - since you could have a title card which would strap to both (Ruthlessness, or some such).

Black Eight pilots known:

  • Juno Eclipse
  • Redline
  • Nas Ghent
  • Chaser
  • Youngster

Additional 'Proper' Black Squadron Pilots

  • Quorl (was at Yavin, was shot down but survived and showed up in the jungles menacing people and trying to get his fighter repaired)
  • Wampa (this is the reconstituted black squadron, based on the executor at Endor. He is black eleven - the name is of course the galaxy far, far away's version of 'Iceman' - so something to do with ignoring or getting rid of stress tokens would seem appropriate).

So, this:

  • Juno Eclipse
  • Redline
  • Nas Ghent
  • Chaser
  • Youngster

I want to have 2 of them as TIE Bomber Pilots.

If I were a betting man, I'd say that we'll get a Battle of Yavin set eventually - with more Black Squadron TIE pilots, Y-wing pilots and a gun tower.

Quorl definitely deserves to be in too. His main thing is, I guess, not dying; yes, all right, there's the survivor-on-yavin bit but his main achievement is surviving critical damage to his fighter and nursemaiding it into a landing despite it being mostly on fire.

Your comment made me think, what if he had a Determination-like ability, but he could discard a face-up damage card that had the Ship trait. If he had an EPT slot, you could equip him with Determination as well and he'd be immune to crits (except of course from Saboteur).

Hm.... or maybe when/if a large ship for the empire is release, we could see more tie pilots.
