Dwarfs or Dwarves and the Gods

By DurakBlackaxe, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Does anyone remember reading anything on how dwarves treat human god worship.

I know dwarves respect their ancestors and dont worship them as gods. But I was playing a game and without giving the event. I had to do something for human worshippers of a human god.

Now I thought this wouldnt be done by my dwarf. All this praying, howling, wearing strange robes etc

But offically is there anything offical on this interaction?

Nothing official. Sorry.

But, I can deduct at least something from the core world-mechanics:

Gods are present. Gods interact in a very physical way with the world. So there has to be a level of respect all around. Right? And thus if you respect a people, you have to respect their gods. Especially with dwarfs and humans, who have such close relations. Especially concerning Sigmar!

Btw, you write dwarfs don't worship their ancestors as gods. But aren't Grimnir and Grungni ancestors who are venerated as gods?

I mean they don't worship them like humans do. They do not expect them to do anything.

They do venerate, respect, honour them. There are after all shrines to them.

Have to find the rulebook that mentions dwarves and their ancestors, but it mentions that the word Gods doesn't mean the same to humans as it does to dwarves. Tome of Blessings page 20.

Ah okay, I found a little on it in Signs of Faith page 27.

"They are polite towards the human gods and their devotees, but that is all."

Mentions how they interact with Sigmar worshippers. Which isn't the one of the two worshippers I am dealing with currently.

I am taking it that they wouldn't do any worship or aid in their ceremonies. But are polite towards those that do.

That's how I see it. Like they would stand bodyguard for the worshippers or might even say something like "put a word in for me, so we find that inn with the good ale".

They would be respectful of Sigmarites, since really he's the only "real god worthy" (ancestor style) and was a dwarf friend etc., dwarves were involved in building his great temple in Altdorf (where there is a small shrine to their gods included - as the tolerance/friendship is mutual).

I know that Sigmar's Heirs says that Sigmarites are very respectful towards dwarfs, but am unsure about the reciprocation. I know they're generally on good to very good terms but don't know many specifics. I know that dwarfs sometimes call Sigmar "Young boy Sigmar", though don't remember where I read that. And that Sigmarites kind of ...let that slide.
