Interceptor Only Build

By Stone37, in X-Wing

Friday can not get here soon enough! I'm not saying it's going to be easy, but an all Interceptor build is in order to celebrate all of the new pilots and abilities. Here's what I'm thinking:

Carnor Jax+PtL+Targeting Computer

Turr+Opportunist+Royal Guard+Stealth+Shield

Royal+Opportunist+RG+Stealth+Shield

I know it's only one new pilot, but I take advantage of both the Royal Guard Title and Opportunist.

An all new list could go something like this:

Carnor Jax+PtL+RG+Stealth+Targeting Computer

Tetran+Opportunist+Royal Guard+Stealth+Shield

Kir+Royal Guard+Stealth+Shield

These builds have me excited as well.

I plan to pair Fel with Jax so that the choice of first target is much more difficult. Haven't figured out the third and or fourth yet.

If you pick Kagi, he'd draw the TLs away from you Interceptors, and your opponent is more likely to TL since Jax can mess with them over if they focus of evade. Just a thought.

Edit: Also excited for Aces.

Jax is going to cause a lot of problems for certain rebel builds. Opportunist is just going to compound the problem. And TL on an Interceptor is going to be sick!

Alright. Here's my hack at it:

Jax PTL TC = 31

Saber PTL = 24

Royal PTL TC 2 = 27

Alpha = 18

Plan is to have Jax get in there any deny actions whilst shootzing while his friends do the same. I gave two of them targeting computers but am not really married to that. Alpha can block if needed

Any tweaks?

I'm looking forward to Royal Guard Pilot /w Push the Limit (x4). Probably too vulnerable to YT-1300s and bad luck to win very many tournaments, but it should be fun to fly. So much firepower! So much speed! So few hit points!

I haven't come up with an exact build yet. I'm so excited to start tinkering though.

Or you could try RGP + PtL (x2), Saber + Opportunist (x2).

Jax is going to be a game changer IMO. In the right list and hands of a talented pilot I can see him dictating the match.

Here is my take on the build.

35 points
Soontir Fel
Royal Guard TIE, Push the Limit, Targeting Computer, Stealth Device
31 points
Turr Phennir
Royal Guard TIE, Veteran Instincts, Stealth Device, Targeting Computer
34 points
Carnor Jax
Push the Limit, Royal Guard TIE, Targeting Computer, Stealth Device

You can Focus and Evade when you need to or TL and Focus to push the damage through. It's still going to take a lot of flying skill to pull off, but hey, no guts, no glory.

I'm looking at

Soontir Fel (27)
Push the Limit (3)
Targeting Computer (2)
Stealth Device (3)
Royal Guard TIE (0)

Carnor Jax (26)
Push the Limit (3)
Shield Upgrade (4)
Hull Upgrade (3)
Royal Guard TIE (0)

Royal Guard Pilot (22)
Push the Limit (3)
Shield Upgrade (4)

Total: 100

The HWK and the Y-wing are going to hate him. He must be Dark Curse's older brother...

Ours are similar. I really like flying Tetran, so my list is:

Soontir Fel (27)

Royal Guard TIE (0)

Push the Limit (3)

Shield Device (4)

Stealth Device (3)

Turr Phennir (25)

Royal Guard TIE (0)

Shield Device (4)

Stealth Device (3)

Tetran Cowall (24)

Royal Guard TIE (0)

Shield Device (4)

Stealth Device (3)

Not a friend of having 3 ships only, so:

Soontir Fel (31)
TIE Interceptor (27), Opportunist (4)

Tetran Cowell (25)
TIE Interceptor (24), Veteran Instincts (1)

Turr Phennir (26)
TIE Interceptor (25), Veteran Instincts (1)

Alpha Squadron Pilot (18)

= 100

The Alpha could be used as a blocker :D

Why can't I come up with brilliance like this? The ints biggest weakness is the turret. Jax effectively shuts those down when they're in blaster turret form. This three man squad would wreck a blaster turret dependent force. Additionally you could also like kill a falcon by turn two having lost one of your own in the process. That would leave two squints against two naked B or X wings which I'll take any day. Thanks for the list!

One on one, the Squint will murder B-Wings, the X is a bit trickier....

The problem is getting one on one :-)

Soontir Fel 30

-PTL

Carnor Jax 29

-PTL

Saber Int 21

Avenger Int 20

I actually thought up a similar build, but with an Academy Tie as a blocker. I think a stealth and a shield upgrade could really give these ships some lasting power. Looking forward to finding out!

I went for the stay out of fire arc theory, but when guns are on target make them count, hence target computer.

It's nearly an all interceptor list ...

Untouchables

3x Royal Guard w/PtL, Stealth

Dark Curse

I would totally consider running this, even in a competition. 3 SP 6s (with two actions) and Dark Curse is a great front runner with his ability.

Nice,

Personally I'd rather field Backstabber over DC, and use him as live "bait" that cannot be ignored. :P

This would work well if your opponent DID ignore Backstabber, only to be forced to change strategies mid game. I don't like to bank on my opponents making such errors, but if they did the Interceptors would take full advantage of this folly.

I was thinking of just using:

Royal Guard Pilot w/ Veteran Instincts and Targeting Computer x 4
