Thought For The Day: ‘A suspicious mind is a healthy mind’
After the brief but bloody battle with the ork slime, we finished cutting through the blast doors that lead into the docking bay on Sub-Level 1. What we found inside was a truly disturbing .The main hanger blast doors were sealed and welded shut from the inside. The burnt, smoking remains of two ships lay scattered about. From the pieces, we determined that one was a small “Lighter” craft that belonged to the listening outpost and the other was the shuttle that the local Arbitrators used to get here.
The rest of the deck was a disturbing scene of blood and gore. Body parts of an undetermined number of men were splattered all over the deck. Burt and bloody entrails were smeared across the floor. One thing was easy to determine, these men didn’t die from the blast of the shuttles…. They were torn apart…… This must have been their last stand.
We recovered what data we could from the wreckage of the shuttles and it is stated in the log that both ships were set to self-destruct by X-Z359 deck officer, William Havazoski. In continuing our search of the docking bay we also found an exhaust vent about 30 meters up that seems to have been ripped open from the inside.
At 0930 Barda sent the following coded vox…..”‘Sir’s, the tech servitor has been working on decrypting the files you sent over and though he’s not finished he has found something I thought I should report. The logs from the mainframe show something strange. It seems for the past few month’s that the reports from the outpost have been fake. They appear to be the same scan over and over with new dates forged. It would seem that the operators here haven’t done a new scan in some time, but they’ve gone to great lengths to make it look as though all has been quiet and normal.’
During our continued search we encountered and purged three more Orks in the dining hall before moving to the living quarters on Sub-Level 2. Like the rest of the outpost this level seems to have been ransacked. Inside the outpost administrators’ (Merris Blout) quarters we uncovered his personal log. God Emperor save us, what we read chilled us to the bone. The log stated that two years ago he began having dealings with a Rouge Trader named Farran Ghast. {Please note Excommunicate Traitoris record 327.99T.428} Their dealings included purchasing lab equipment, and Xenos DNA samples of Tyranids. He also states that he and the others set up the false scan reports and then removed the scanning equipment in order to set up a lab so that their research could be done in secret. A bio-cloak that he also purchased from Ghast had been installed to mask all bio signs within the facility. That however seemed to be the undoing. ……. According to the last log entry, one of the “Specimens” had gotten loose and because of the bio-cloak they were unable to find it before it got into the ductwork. It was at this time that we began to hear gun fire and orks screaming.
A group of about six “Green-Skins” rushed past the room we were standing in. They were firing behind them as they rushed toward the soft dock on this level. Only a moment later did we hear inhuman screams and the “Clickity-Click” of claws on metal heading this way!!! The beast rushed past the doorway chasing the orks and as you can see from the vid-capture {Attachment PT-0084} it would seem that these heretic fools were breeding Genestealers!
Sila and I made haste at once for the upper level soft dock. I alerted Barda over the vox and instructed him to send and urgent message to Battlefleet Calixis informing them of the Tyranid outbreak on Outpost X-Z359 and request immediate assistance!
By the time we reached the ship, we were being pursued by at least three more of the xenos beast. We barely made it aboard before being overcome. The ork ship bugged out before we could stop it. However in light of events we stayed in orbit until the battlecruiser “Devine Fist” arrived.
Outpost X-Z359 no longer exists.

We have standing orders to follow every lead in hunting down this heretic; however we will await orders from you.
