Pour one out for my FLGS.

I think things have gone a little off the rails, here. I'm not a moderator, fellas, and the faceless nature of the webz leaves us all prone to wild misunderstandings and unintended chaos and confusion. Let's acknowledge that Dante's life is personally effected by this, and that TBS actually did hit a nerve.

There are many words and phrases in the english language that are part of the world of slang. Many of them have their beginnings in negative circumstances. I always point to the "rule of thumb" as a working example. This was a legal reference that established that a man could not beat his wife or children with any stick possessing a girth or circumference larger than the largest part of his thumb.

If we all spent conscious thought wandering around everyday previewing every word that came out of our mouths and checking for offense, we'd be...Canadian. ... See what I did there?

So, if you want to work out your differences and keep this community healthy, then do so. This is a public forum, after all. Let's just leave all of the poop-flinging to the Politicos...

BTW, Thank you all for your kind words regarding my previous post. As I approach my middling years and raise my own children, there are certain things that have become important to me.

It wasn't TBS, it was me.

Sorry, multi-tasking is not my strong point...

I'm glad this store survived to retirement. I love the idea of local but reality is what it is. A brick and mortar facade can still be had, but a business has to acknowledge e-commerce, there is simply no way around it in this day and age. I know some rail against it but it just strikes me as fruitless and misplaced. The music industry fought Napster tooth and nail over MP3s and essentially lost, digital delivery of entertainment became ubiquitous. So too the same reality applies to gaming. A store has to develop a web presence. There may be some niches out there where someone can still succeed at the local level but I would think they are few and far between.
