Clone Wars season 6- no spoilers(yet)

By r2trooper, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I just got done flixing Season 6. All I can say is WOW!! They were awesome. I am now really ticked off the show got cancelled!

I think these arcs were the best yet, and the most powerful! So for anyone that was debating watching them, it should not even be question, just go watch them!

For those of us that debate the Force, the last few episodes really give a good picture of George's idea of it. I really think those were a home run. Very emotional performances, and great animation. While I really loved Ian Ambercrombie's Palpatine/Sidiuos, Tim Curry fills the role nicely. I just can't see Dr. Frankfurter!! Mark Hamil's performance was very cool. A little like The Joker, but still unique and different. Just that same kind of lunatic lost in madness.

While I have not loved every episode of The Clone Wars, I'm still a huge fan of the show, and Season was no disappointment, well, except for the fact it was the last one. :(

So, if this is any indication of what to expect with Rebels, can not wait.

I give season 6 a 5 star rating!

Sounds great, I just wish it wasn't on netflix, I don't have an account. I get everything else from iTunes, and I like to have my stuff downloaded so I'm not dependent on bandwidth. But I guess I don't have any other option :(

I'm just starting to watch it from Season 1.

Well you can always sign up for the free week trail, then cancel it.

Mouthymerc, I suggest doing a little research online, on watch them in "chronological" order, not air date. The first 4 seasons are kind of all over the place. They have episodes from S2 and S3 that are before the clone wars movie. I think watching them in the correct order will give you a better over all story. But either way, enjoy.

I watched Season 1 through 5 in the order they're given on the DVDs, then recently went back and watched The Clone Wars movie. I liked the episodic feel that jumping around in chronological order gave it.

I gotta say I love the droid in episode 2.

I just finished Season 1 a bit back and haven't seen the movie. Is there a better place to start than the beginning? I'm probably going to watch them all anyway, but I'm curious.

I'll get it it when its released on DVD or BluRay but from reading the descriptions on Wookieepedia it sounds like more of the same problems which caused the series to go down hill in seasons three through five. Too many stories focused on politics, intrigue, and Jedi side missions and not enough focused on warfare.

As for the movie, well it was better than Attack of the Clones IMO but still worse than seasons one or two of the series.

Ok, for Episode one. When the Shuttle and escort ships leave the Star Destroyer.. is it just me or is the music "Vampire Hunters" from Keanu Reeves vs. Dracula playing?

I gotta say, after finishing season six Star Wars will never be the same for me(in a good way)

Yoda rox.

Well, that was totally worth the binge watch. Wish they could have made more, but at least they wrapped up some threads (why the clones turned), and clarified the nature of the Force somewhat.

Ok, I can no longer read this thread. I still have a lot of bingeing to do.

@ Colyer, here is a link to the whole series in chronological order. The bad thing it doesn't have the season or episode numbers, just the titles, so you have to find those.

There are two episodes that happen before the "movie". Although I feel "Clone Cadets" could be the first episode.

Like everything, there are good episodes, bad episodes, horrible ones, and great ones. I like the whole series, but it is not for everyone. I think Season 6 was by far the best one, and you don't really have to watch the series to understand Season 6, but it sure helps out a lot. But hope you all enjoy it no matter how you watch them.

Interesting that they went with a external stimulus for the execution of order 66. I was under the impression that it was instilled from a sense of duty in the clone troopers and not some kind of brainwashing. But then, this isn't the first time that the Clone Wars has run roughshod over continuity before.

Of course we get more demonstration that the Jedi were asleep at the wheel when it came to sensing all the dark side **** that was going on around them and investigating all the odd happenings they experienced.

And yes, it blows my mind that we go from this:

I am now watching them in chrnological order and it is actually more enjoyable at this point. Something I have to say though...

R2 is a pimp!

I've been watching seasons 1-4 which I own on blu-ray, I just added season 6 on Netflix. Im a big fan of the series and really looking forward to watching the final season. One request, please add spoiler tags if you reveal something big, Ive been trying real hard to avoid all spoilers :)

While we are on the topic, has anyone thought of running a game set during the Clone Wars? Which system would be better, Edge, Rebellion or perhaps a combo of both?

Obviously, Jedi play a big role, but until F&D I probably would not include them as player options (mostly as NPCs).

It depends on what kind of game you want to play. Are the PCs regular Joes just trying to get by, or actual agents of the Republic?

I've tried, but I can't even convince myself I can tell it's Tim Curry's voice as the Chancellor. He does a great job, very sinister!

I'm so happy to see love for Clone Wars. For me, it raises the storytelling bar of Star Wars, making me feel sympathy and respect for Anakin Skywalker in a way the prequels didn't quite manage.

One complaint that gets tossed around a lot is that Clone Wars was a show "for kids".

As I watched the episodes in which irregularities in the security procedures behind the Intergalactic Banking Clan's loans to the Separatists led to a credit crisis and threatened the economic system of the Galaxy, I thought "Sure enough, they're just pandering to all the kindergarteners and how much they love intergalactic securities regulation!"

Also, watching the Clone Wars can be incredible inspiration for settings AND environments for Star Wars stories.

How about the Intergalactic Banking Clan's mountaintop clockwork palace, with its enormous interlocking doors and scrolling stock quotes all over the place?

Or the idea of a speeder chase down a snow-covered mountain while a bounty hunter snowboards on his hat?

Or the space station that is a ring around an entire planet! Love it.

I always get inspired when watching the show and come away wanting to make the environments and settings our campaign takes place in more impressive and memorable.

I think it would clearly be the rebellion game set, but then again, the games are meant to be a mix. So unless your guys are going to be in the fringe of clone war, i.e. no battles, edge, going to be working with droids or clones, then rebellion.

And there are your spoilers folks. :P

I can't remember the name but didn't they identify that planet with the space station ring in Star Wars Legacies vol 2? I can't think of the species name...

I saw clips of the chase down the snowy mountainside in one of the ads for the show.

I'll put tags around the other stuff!

Didn't think it was specific enough to qualify as a spoiler.

lol I was being sarcastic. You didn't post any plot lines or anything like when yoda did...... :D

Heh, cool, I didn't want to spoil anyone's enjoyment or surprise!

I've got Legacy Vol II but I haven't read it yet. I'd be interested to find some more about that space station though.
