stealth device

By talasea, in X-Wing Rules Questions

I was wondering if shields stopped the stealth device. It says increase your agility value by 1. If hit by an attack discard this ability. If your ship has shields and you get hit and lose a shield token do you lose the card. Or do you have to take a damage card to lose it.

  1. If they attack you and this causes you to lose a shield, you have been hit, and lose the SD.

A hit is a hit, regardless of it being absorbed by your shields or not.

In fact, a hit is a hit, even if it's a crit and a wingman uses DTF to eat the crit for you. You were still 'hit' by the attack according to the letter of the rules. You take no damage, but lose stealth under the correct set of circumstances.

Any time there are uncanceled [hit] or [crit] results as part of an attack, your ship is Hit, and lose Stealth Device.

If you take damage, lose a shield or take no damage at all simply doesn't matter.

Thanks for the post! and just in time...

I was wondering the same thing, however, just to clarify: if a hit is a hit - if the opponent rolls three hits and the you roll three evades, they did roll a hit? or you have to take a hit?

Sorry, but have a tournament soon and want to be sure before I finalize the list.

That example is not a hit. A ship is hit if and only if it is defending an attack and there are uncanceled [hit] or [crit] results. In your example, the three [evade] results would cancel the three [hit] results and result in an attack which misses.

Thank you...I also read page 12 which defines a hit and was about to remove my post...love this place great learning.
