Not everyone wants to buy three transports to get a squadron of Rogue Squadron X-Wings. To these people I suggest a repaint of the X-Wing to mimic the colours of Rogue Squadron if they want their X-Wings to look the part.
But what about me?
TRANSPORT
I'm going to play the transport on a 6' X 4' gaming area. Place the transport on one of the 4' sides and then assemble the Rebels in anyway the player sees fit. Empire squadrons come in from the other side of the gaming area on a mission to cripple or destroy the transport. Rebels simply have to get the transport off the other side of the gaming area.
If I want more than one transport, this mission can be repeated and the different squadrons arranged in waves.
X-WING
Using a squadron builder http://xwing-builder.co.uk/build which someone posted in one of my earlier topics, I find myself wanting to use non-character X-Wings. For those who are interested in such things: Trio of Red Squadron pilots; each with R5 astromech, proton torpedoes and shield upgrade. When I saw the lonely Rogue Squadron X-Wing I thought " why not use that X-Wing for a character "
Whether used as a Rogue Squadron pilot or Biggs, Garven, Luke or Wedge, I figured why not use the only unique X-Wing to make my collection to represent them.
You might disagree.
Might think I've gone mad.
But that is how I'm going to be using the new X-Wing and the Transport. Because I don't want to buy more than one. If I ever want to use the unique pilots, then I'd simply use my " normal " X-Wings with the pilot cards. As long as I pay the points, and my opponent knows and is happy, why stress about what X-Wing I use?
To all those who cry:
"I want Rogue Squadron but don't want three transports"
I say:
"Chill and use a bit of imagination"
That's what I think anyway.
