Minion Sheet Resource

By MyriadPro, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

So one of my players has two pets with one of her characters, a pair of Nexu cubs. She asked if I could whip up some sort of "Minion Sheet" where she could jot down/reference their characteristics, skills, and basic weapons. Nothing too fancy.

Well, since this player is also my girlfriend, I had no choice but to comply. She suggested I post them here as well.

Nothing glorious, but is getting the job for us:

Open to suggestions/requests regarding it, if anyone has any.

EDIT:

Based on feedback in this thread, I've adjusted the name to "Companion Sheet" to not interfere with the existing in-game reference to "Minions". Was apparently causing confusion, and I'm a goof for not thinking of that sooner! :)

Cool, nice job, very fancy. I just use refrence cards I cut up with handwritten stats and such...

Nice!

My wife has asked about the possibility of her Archaeologist character getting some type of pet creature.

May I suggest OggDude's Character Generator? It has GM tools which make great minion encounter sheets very easily.

I use those for my own encounters/enemies and such. But she wanted it as a Player Sheet supplement of sorts, with places to write/change things. (Especially since her 'cubs' are in the process of training/becoming stronger).

I offered printed statlines, and I love them myself. But she, and my players, like empty sheets to write in. To each their own I guess.

Must they be referred to as "minions"?

Hireling, apprentice, pet...

Don't mind me. I'm just sick of "minion" being the buzzword. I blame Despicable Me.

I s'pose you can call them that if you want.

My thought was that Hireling, Apprentice, Pet, all classify them as a rather specific case. "Minion" is a tried and true catch-all for "THING THAT OBEYS ME." And that's what this is for. Our Hunter's pet cubs, our Marauders junkie lackeys. So on.

But hey, that's just me broseidon, you're free to crack the file open and change the names. :)

Great sheet, but yes the Minion name needs changed simply because it's already been used by this system and thus would cause confusion (see posts #4 and #5 that thought you meant actual Minions, using the game term). You also probably aren't going to refer to every opponent your players face as adversaries also due to the confusion it may cause - "Do you mean he's an adversary in the general sense or do you mean an Adversary in game mechanics?"

Minion would be good if it wasn't already used. Pet would be appropriate for animals, but not robots or people. Hireling makes you think you are paying them when you may not be. So, Henchman or Sidekick? Looking up definitions of both makes them seem appropriate:

Henchman:

a faithful follower or political supporter, esp. one prepared to engage in crime or dishonest practices by way of service.

Sidekick:

a person's assistant or close associate, esp. one who has less authority than that person.

By definition those may actually be more appropriate then minion for many sorts of followers (oops there's another one!). Looking at the definitions above, Follower, Associate, and Assistant could also work.

That's a good argument.

How about "Companion." Its not currently used by game mechanics, and it could encompass both humanoid hirelings, animal pets, and droid followers.

I've updated the sheet/links to reflect this.

**** I should have thought of Companion! I think that is what was used in FFG's Warhammer version of this same game system for what you are speaking of.

Yeah i've been gaming with my wife for many years and you want to avoid hearing, "Hey Dr. Death, you forgot your toothbrush".

What you could do is create her cubs as adversaries in the GM Tools, then do a stat block export and print them up. If you insert the stat block into, say, MS Word, you could add some blank lines or whatever at the end where she could write. When the cubs have grown up, or gotten stronger, or whatever, just modify the adversary and do another stat block export.

OggDude

It would be cool to have an option to tag something like this onto your PC. Like for an example be able to tag a R2 Droid onto your character sheet. in your character generator.
