Nicely done... I like it, and I've never seen this before, so kudos on originality..
Edit.. not normally a fan of red, but this shade isn't bad at all...
Edited by onewayI feel like the red is a bit much, but other than that, love it
Part of that is the lousy cell phone pic--it's a much deeper shade in person. Once it's finished, I'll take better shots with an actual camera...
I like it, even with red. On my conversion, people said to much blue, I say, its my ship, I shall paint it to MY liking. I like the custom work you did, original and fits the piece.
Funky conversion interesting variant on the YT-1200 Is it the same length as the normal YT, looks like you cut back the tip of the remaining mandible. I like the red too though It needs more highlighting or drybrushing to bring out the detail more. I'm not a fan of the silver though I think grey or off white would work better. But it is your ship and a very unique one.
I would bet its a hair longer... maybe... 1 or 1.5 cm longer... not much though..
What did you use to make the big block in the middle that you added? The detail on it looks really good.
@ oneway: It may actually be slightly shorter than the stock falcon (if I remember right), although that may have been before I mounted the sensor dish on the front. I'll put some side-by-side pics up for comparison.
@ Forgottenlore: It's all just polystyrene sheet / rod / tubing. If you check out ZombieHedgehog's YT threads, you'll see what I mean.
THe acrylic give it a really nicer look, congrats.
Love that finished look! Very cool!

Thanks. The spray I use has a slightly glossier finish than I'd like (satin vs matte), but I haven't found anything else that give the same depth of color.
Outstanding.. I hope mine looks as good when I'm done... I am rethinking my paint scheme though... well done.. well done
Might have been cool to mount the gun on a swiveling mount so it could turn.. that would have been fun.. maybe magnets ... hmmmm.

Cool, I figured it would be close...
the Solar Flare mod I'm doing is similar, but with an engine change as well. I have one more mod to do and that one will flip the cockpit to the port side, I may add some central superstructure to it as well depending on how well my Solar Flare comes out.
Edited by onewayThe dark red looks gorgeous
The darker red looks really cool, I wasn't sure about the silver at first but I like it now.
The ship looks cool, very different from most conversions which is good to see, the details that you have added look great!
Do you have any plans for any other custom miniatures?

Thanks! I'm nowhere near your level, but I appreciate the kind words.
As far as further customs, I do need to repaint a couple of Firesprays to look like Krassis & Kath. I may also try and modify Krassis' ride to reflect the auto-include HLC.
I recently acquired a second shuttle, and was toying with converting it to something like this: http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20080121045525/starwars/images/8/89/Theta_ICS.jpg ... but I'll admit, it's a daunting prospect.
Other than that, I'm sorely tempted to do another Falcon (because it was so much fun), but I'm having a hard time justifying the purchase of a third. If I score some more store credit, perhaps...
Great work, Sir. Love the color scheme, feels very rich. I can't find a picture at the moment, but remember that one of the private airlines, serving rich and powerful was wearing similar livery. Only one thing gets wrong kind of a attention, why do you have an antenna in front of the cargo bay doors??
The dark red looks really nice there good conversion and repaint.

Heh. In my own made-up lore for this ship, I'd envisioned all the cargo space being converted over into long-range surveilance / monitoring systems.
well, now it makes sense
Fantastic!
Beautiful! And it reminds me of the Errant Venture!!!
