Turr question

By Geoffy, in X-Wing

Hey guys,

Sorry if this has been asked before. I was using Turr today to devastating effect (he finished off kath and a bomber without getting shot at) by using his nasty ability, but I think there may have been a turn or two where I boosted as his action and boosted again after shooting or did the same with barrel roll.

Is this a legal use or was I illegally double actioning, like a boss?

Otherwise, while he's still good, I'm not sure I'll like him as much. I'm not sure how many times I did it, if at all. But I was denying vader and kath firing arcs every single turn while still dumping 3-4 shots into the fire spray each turn.

Thanks for your help

You were illegally double actioning like a boss. You can't do the same action twice in a turn. Turr is still a lot of fun even if you don't double boost ;)

Womp womp woooooomp...I thought so :( I felt so awesome dodging all those arcs. I know I didn't do it every time but even once negates all the glory. It was my first time flying a squint and dayyuum are those things sweet. Turr is phenomenal as well. Just have to play him legally :)

You smooth criminal you.

Don't feel too bad.

Could of been the difference between Turr dying or not from the B-Wing. We will never know :P

Keep in mind: boost + barrel roll is still pretty danged effective: do one to get into R1 and the other to get out of firing arc!

Turr eats babes and poops rainbows that is why he always wins. I mean push the limit for three actions a round even with a stress ;-)

Can you do the free boost if you have a stress on him already?

No I was trying to be funny.

From memory the free action at the end is a boost or roll. Seeing it is an action you can not do it stressed.

I don't think so

Thats what I thought but its been a long week.

It can be used after his free action though. IE barrel roll, combat, boost then PtL focus or some such.

I was really hoping we would see a ruling that said if you took engine upgrade with Turr it would give him 2 boost actions a turn... not that it would be point effective, but it would be **** fun.

And that's not Turr specific... but that's where I would like to see it.

Hell, I'd love to see a Boost/Barrel Roll esque thing that can cause collisions.

Well, there's Daredevil I suppose, but I'd rather avoid the self-damage-and-stress-and-why-the-hell-does-this-thing-have-so-many-downsides aspects

Edit: tycho is also my favorite pilot from when I first really got into Star Wars (big SWCCG nut here) and I love A-wings in general. Maybe the age of Tycho really has come with all these new stress mechanics that are getting introduced in the new releases?

Allowing Arvel to boost into things is the perfect solution to him!

Title, 0pts:

Green leader, unique pilots only. When declaring a boost you may instead do a 1 or 1 banked maneuver.

Works offensively and defensively and makes Arvel worthwhile.

It can be used after his free action though. IE barrel roll, combat, boost then PtL focus or some such.

Or potentially even better (depending on the shot lined up:

1) Focus

2) Combat

3) Free Barrel Roll action from his Ability

4) PTL free Boost Action => now stressed but hopefully also outside arc(s) and beautifully lined up for next round ;-)

Wow that was great!!!
