All I want to say is.... I wish FFG had put Corran in the X-Wing. Make it right FFG.
What, and have a fifth buyable X-Wing, overpowering the vessel even more?

Core set, expansion, Rebel transport, you surely understand what I'm saying here. That the X-Wing has enough options. Now, almost guaranteed, the eventual rebel aces will have an X-Wing in it.
And if that doesn't have Horn in an X-Wing, then surely another expansion would be needed to get him in one.
We do not need any more X-Wing releases. It's had enough versions of itself, time for different ships to have the spotlight.
We know the two named E-wing pilots. That Said who that Ethan guy is, is mystery to me. Anyone enlighten me?
If you want Corran in an X-wing all you have to do is look at the pilot ability and pilot skill of his ship and calculate it out against the next lower E-wing ship and find the total amount of points that the PS and pilot upgrade cost. Then, go into a card maker, pull up an x-wing card and make a new X-wing card. Won't be tournament legal but will give you the ship card that you are looking for.
There are excel spreadsheets that calculate the points for every ship, for every ability. Check over at BGG for one of those.
This thread needs some Focus. I'll activate my ability and anyone within 2 pages of my post gets a free Focus if the like my post.
I don't think this is about Corran as much as it is about dislike for the E-Wing design.
I'm not a fan of it is my opinion.
Stil going to get it for the upgrade cards though.
I just rolled two eyes and a critical. I'm using my Focus to get 3 hits.
Your turn.

Even granting that there will be a Rebel Aces at all--they could consider Transport as the "Aces" release--what makes you certain the X-wing will be included? You have a good point about the number of X-wing refreshes, but I'm sure FFG can count just as well as you can.
I can't see them doing a Rebel Aces with an X-Wing, at least not until they've done one for A-Wing's, B-Wings, Y-Wings, and perhaps even the wave 4 stuff.
With the Transport, the X-Wing now has more named pilots then any other ship. It doesn't need more pilots when most other ships have 2.
So assuming this game keeps going long enough, and FFG sorts out their manufacturing issues enough that they can do a Aces release without bringing production on new stuff to a halt... Then I think they're likely to do ace packs for everything.
Yeah, only the movie ships will get the Aces treatment. The X-wing will likely get more pilots. Why? Because it is the ship that has the most named pilots in the EU. I mean, it had an entire series of books with X-wing pilots. Now, I doubt we will get them all soon, and I doubt the first Rebel Aces pack will be for the X-wing, but that doesn't preclude the X-wing getting the Aces treatment eventually.
Yeah, only the movie ships will get the Aces treatment.
And you base that on what exactly? It's pretty clear that FFG has no issues with the EU stuff and is more interested in treating X-Wing as a game then some sort of homage to the OT. So they'll produce stuff based on what they feel makes the game better and makes them the most profit.
I mean both of the Imperial Aces are EU ships. The 181st and Emperors Royal Guard were never seen in the movies.
but that doesn't preclude the X-wing getting the Aces treatment eventually.
It will but it doesn't need it any time soon. More A-Wing, B-Wing, Y-Wing, Tie Advanced, ect... Pilots make much more sense in game terms then more X-Wings or even Tie Fighters at this point.
Edited by VanorDMI'd actually like to see tycho in a tie fighter... that would be neat.
That would be pretty cool, to see not just Tycho but some of the other Rebel heroes when they were attending the Imperial Academy and flying TIEs
I think Corran in an E-Wing lends support to the idea of not only card expansions, but additional repaints. And I hope that allows for Tycho in an X-Wing, new pilots like Davish "Pops" Krail, and—most importantly—Maarek Stele in his natural habitat: a
Studebaker
TIE Defender.
Don't get me wrong, I am stoked to see Horn in the game period, he is probably my favorite character. But I don't see where he, or Rogue a Squadron for that matter ever flew E's.
Research on Wookiepedia shows Corran was a Rogue from 6 ABY to 19 ABY. in looking at Rogue Squadron they only flew X-Wings except for in 11 ABY when they switched to a multi-fighter unit that included A-wings,V-wings, and B-wings but went back to X's the following year.
I realize that this isn't the only source but it seems pretty thorough, just curious as to other sources.

according to his wookiepedia entry, " The Rogues were expanded vastly, turned into a multi-fighter unit based around E-wings and B-wings, and based on Lusankya , which Antilles departed the squadron to command, leaving Celchu as Rogue Leader"
"Horn stayed and weathered these changes, which were only temporary""
I have not read the books where this happened, so I cannot comment beyond that
Totally missed that..
Yeah I don't know if he ever explicitly flew one, but the Rogues flew them for a while when he was a member, before switching to a new model X-wing.
I stand corrected.
All I care about is seeing stele in a defender.
Yay.
I am psyched to have Horn. Now I just need Whistler, Mirax, the pulsar skate and Narwa Ven to wrangle any lawyers who need to be subdued so the new movies can be all my favorite stuff from the EU. Lose JJ and put Joss Wheaton in charge of everything.
Mmmmmm,m

Is this the same Joss Wheadon that said he hated the ending of Episode V?? Yeah, he'd be great.../sarcasm

Did he specify what he hated about the ending? I can think of some critiques though I generally quite like it. I don't hold that the movies were perfect, some parts of Eppisode IV hurt my brains. I know it's the same Joss that made the Avengers bleeding edge cool. That, and Firefly, work for me.
He said that no movie should have a cliffhanger ending, that everyone wants to see a nice resolution at the movie's end, and thus Episode V (which ended on a cliffhanger note) had a terrible ending.
