E-Wing Pilot: Corran Horn

By Deltmi, in X-Wing

Well there is a imperial pack all by itself

I think it's interesting that there is a collector type demand for this game. Personally, I have plenty of each ship. More than I could ever field in a single game. However, it terrifies me that once this game dies, I won't have access to any of the miniatures any more.

A pilot card pack would be exciting for me, because for some bizarre reason I have the desire for my Miniature collection to match my action figure collection.

I never kept up with the later EU, but are there no other choices for named E-Wing pilots?

I don't mind Corran in an E-wing, though it bothers me slightly that we get him in an E-wing before an X-wing (because he never flew an E-wing in the books, though apparently he did in some comics).

Either way, it should be real easy to take Corran's ability, slap it on an X-wing, guesstimate points, and have a mighty fine custom for some home games. Rogue nine standing by!

At least Arron Allston didn't have to see this travesty...

Corran Horn's iconic fighter was the X Wing...wonder if part of the reason they tossed him in the Ewing pack was to drive sales :/

I hate to be reusing this gif so soon, but it is so remarkably suitable to this current conversation.

As much as I would have preferred him in an X-Wing, in the end I'm just happy he's in the game. Also, I can't wait to make a 'jedi' list with him, Luke and Kyle. Might not be competitive, but would likely be fun in casual, at least for fluff purposes.

Spoilers! ;)

I suspect it's only a matter of time until we see some guys like Corran or Tycho show up in alternate ships. Still a ton of X-Wing pilots even from the Battle of Yavin they could include to sell repaints or card packs, but I know there's a lot of demand for some of the Rogues to show up in X-Wings, or Maarek Stele to show up in...literally anything else...

I don't know a lot of the EU. What did he actually fly in? (Steele)

He flew a number of ships, and is known for flying the TIE Defender, TIE Avenger and Missile Boat. For more details: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Maarek_Stele

well he flew a tie fighter and interceptor aswell he flew barelly anything a talented pilot indeed

I'm guessing you think using an Obama gif makes you look smart, it doesn't.

Ahhh nothing like a grammar nazi ;) welcome to the internet.

So much anger. Someone needs to post a MLP gif to complete the meltdown...

I just don't see how Corran premiering in the game in an E-wing is such a travesty. I am entirely confident pilots like Tycho and Corran will get a version for the X-wing. One must have some patience.

Nazi should be capitalized, but that's neither here nor there. I just like to point out the irony, especially when somebody too fond of their own voice gets condescending.

Thanks for the welcome, though. Tell me, is everyone here on the internet as biased and churlish as you seem to be?

Getting back on topic, I don't mind Corran piloting the E-Wing even if it isn't his iconic fighter. We already have a precedent for characters showing up as crews in other ships. It isn't a huge stretch to see characters in different fighters as time goes by and FFG looks for ways to continually add content to the game.

I'd like to put Wes, Wedge, Tycho, and Corran in a list (it would be over 100pts of course, but still...).

There you go, dearie. Go sit with the other children. Off with you, now! :)

Alright, this thread has become sufficiently immature enough now, I think.

I don't mind that Corran was put in an E-wing any more than I do Tycho in an A-wing. They both flew one at a certain point in their career, but they both preferred the X-wing to any other fighter.

Jesus Christ guys.

Guys.

In "Rebel Dream" there is an E-wing squadron, Blackmoon, that fights over Borleis. The commander eventually has a nervous breakdown and is taken off the line and replaced with Luke for the final battle. So I thought we might see a Blackmoon quadron pilot or the Commander whose-name-I-forget.

If we did see the commander it would be neat if he had some sort of stress generating ability to go with his fluff in a tragiocomic kind of way...

Anger, fear, aggression. The dark side of the force are they.

What!

[google] Damnit!

Bye Arron. Thanks for all the great stories.

It's just strange to me that FFG feels the E-Wing is iconic enough to put in their game, but then can't scrounge up more than 1 named pilot for it?

Did the comics/books not have any new pilots for those ships?

The E-Wing showed up a bunch, but I don't know that a lot of pilots were ever named for it. I haven't read all of the novels in which it appeared or anything, but aside from what I understand was a brief stint of Rogue Squadron flying Bs and Es, I think named pilots were a bit few and far between.

I can't blame them for including it - it's a very interesting design that a lot of people, myself included, have liked since Dark Empire, and it fills a very cool niche in the game; the Heavy Interceptor. But yeah I can see why they had to stretch a bit for who to put in there.

Actually I think over on Team Covenant one of the guys identified the higher PS generic as Blackmoon. One of the squad builders has a placeholder in there as Bloodmoon, which was his best guess, but if Blackmoon was a thing I suspect that is in fact the other one.

All I want to say is.... I wish FFG had put Corran in the X-Wing. Make it right FFG.

We have only seen a few pilot cards for this set so far, I'm sure they have a couple named pilots for each and then a couple generic squad types as they have done with all the ships so far.. I don't understand this whole give us good pilots talk.. every set that has come out is the same, a few good high PS pilots and a couple generic squad types..

Be patient and we shall eventually see them all or we will see them when they release.. sheesh guys, a little self control here..
