Corran Horn will be featured as an E-Wing pilot! Woot!
E-Wing Pilot: Corran Horn
Lol glad he's in but I was hoping he'd be an x-wing pilot so I could paint it up in his green corsec colors. I'll just have to paint the E-wing up that way!
At least Arron Allston didn't have to see this travesty...
Corran Horn's iconic fighter was the X Wing...wonder if part of the reason they tossed him in the Ewing pack was to drive sales :/

I'd still paint up an X-Wing and proxy It as Horn's X-Wing. You only would need to use an E-Wing for sanctioned stuff.. (and Rules Sticklers).
the E-Wing is very comparable in stats, actions, and upgrades, to the X-Wing; Dials should be similar too. Slap on a hull upgrade and you can think of the extra evade as "Force-Sensitive" reflexes. The addition of Systems can be looked at as "Whistler's extra upgrades".
At least simulating Horn in an X-Wing is easier than Tycho in one.. Expose/Opportunist + Hull (at least with the A-Wing dial he sort of has a built-in R2.)
Also, how would He managed to get his hands on a CorSec E-Wing? Wasn't He still part of the Alliance / Republic when they were introduced as Fighters? Did he ever join back and did CorSec even have access to E-Wings?
Anyways, would still like to see the paint job once you've finished it

Why not just essentially give him the stats for an X-wing and bring his piloting skill and his special ability over. The only thing you'd have to do besides that is look at what a comparable point cost X-wing pilot has and give him those options.

True, but Horn does fly an E-wing. In....Dar k Empire ? I think? There are quite a few rogue squadron pilots in thie game already who are in things other than the X-wing.
By comparison, there are relatively few 'named' E-wing aces they could draw on.
Well they had to get some people to fly it.
I mean eating a boat barely flew one.

So did everyone, as far as I can tell. It popped up in Dark Empire and then within a few stories it just seemed to fade into the background as everyone insisted they had to still be in X-wings (hence the increasingly long string of version numbers that were supposed to make X-wings stay competitive).

Including the special Jedi X-wing that
completely ignores the blackbody radiation problem
is all black and cool and stealthy and stuff, and comes with its own
disgusting snot bomb
adhesive torpedo!

Wow, first of all this is so mind-blowingly insensitive it defies belief. If you want to disapprove of their pilot choice, go for it. Show some respect and leave the guy who died a few days ago out of it. Using his name to promote your own opinion just illustrates how little respect you actually have for the man. He's not a propoganda tool.
Second, they needed a good, high ps E-wing pilot, pure and simple. And yes, of course they wanted a name people would recognize - that's why Smug Lerr isn't the ps9 Falcon pilot. Is Corran as intrinsically linked to the E-wing as Luke or Wedge is to the X-wing, or Han and Chewie are to the Falcon? No, but all the Rogues flew E-wings at some point, and they already have a glut of named X-wing pilots with the core set, expansion, and now the Transport coming out.
Doesn't mean you won't ever see him, or Tycho, or others in X-wings too at some point down the road. Either way, make your axes, express how this has shattered your entire worldview and broken your faith in your fellow man, whatever.
But do it without cashing in on the loss of a man many on here liked, and some actually knew and cared for as a person.

Well, yes--all of that. But let's also acknowledge that he managed to (a) mis-spell Allston's name while invoking it on his own behalf, and (b) apparently thinks Corran is one of Allston's characters.
Edited by Vorpal SwordAt least we finally get Corran in this game.

Why would Aaron care? Corran Horn is Mike Stackpole's character, not Aaron Allston's.

You seem pretty simple, you looked at my post and became butt inflamed without actually comprehending. I'm not making fun of Aaron. He's not my 'propaganda tool' or whatever drivel you spewed. Aaron was one of my favorite EU authors.
I think Aaron would have been pretty sad to see one of his iconic characters that he breathed life into being stuck in this joke of a ship. So yeah, at least he didn't have to see this.
Now, go losen your fedora a few notches, I think it's adding to your crankiness.
I think maybe its time to take chill pill and remember its a game at the end of the day. Would 99% of us like to see Horn in a x-wing? Yer course but its no big whoop that he's in a E-wing. I will still use him. I don't think A.A would mind too much.
No, you are putting your opinions in an author's mouth. And given how recently he passed away, that is in extremely bad taste.
I mean, we'll also ignore the fact that Corran was Stackpole's creation and pet character, it is still a terrible thing to say.
It is fine if you are not happy with it, but don't try to use an author's passing to highlight your opinion. Especially since it seems likely to have a Corran X-wing pilot eventually.

I'm not putting anything in the author's mouth, I'm speculating that he'd have been upset to see it too. I know I would be. He may have been Stackpole's creation, but Aaron added to his story considerably.
Now, chill out and take a time-out or something, and stop trying to twist people's words to fit your fancy.

I think the first part was aimed at me. Yes I was assuming his opinion. I think the man was grown up enough to not let this bother him as much as its bothering others.
I'm not sure why the author would care if the character was in an E-Wing instead if an X-Wing. He'd probably just be happy the character's legacy continues in another medium.
Personally, *I'd* rather have Corran in an X-Wing (my most wanted Rogue), but I'm just a pathetic fanboy...

I think you just did what you accused me of.
I did not say you were making fun of him - I said you were putting your words in his mouth and showing a disturbing lack of class and respect due to the fact the guy JUST passed away. If you liked his work as much as you claim to - never mind whether he had anything to do with the creation of this character or not - I would have expected you to be a lot less crass in using the guy's death to push your personal point of view.
