The damage CARD implies that it is a hit to the hull, so yeah that works.I believe Rexler's ability is: After you perform [an attack that] deals at least one [Damage card to the] defender, you [may receive one Stress] token to [flip the card.] Basically taking stress to turn a Damage into a Crit.
It's a good idea, but there's a grammatical problem--"at least one Damage card" is essentially plural, so "flip the card" doesn't make sense. If I'm attacking an unshielded Falcon that whiffs on the defense roll, what happens if it takes 3 damage cards?
It's not stress because it would allow him to flip multiple damage cards as worded. My guess is that line is "spend one focus token"
No it wouldn't. If it says he can take ONE crit to flip ONE card, that is exactly what he will be allowed to do. It doesn't allow him to tak two (or more) Stress tokens.
