I am seeing a lot of Biggs + Chewie lists. That combo is really powerful if you can line up pawn A with pawn B behind asteroid C.

I played in the first of the 5 near me on Saturday. My squad was one I have been working on for a bit, and is a variation on the worlds combo:

Dagger Squadron Pilot (24)

-Advanced Sensors (3)

Red Squadron Pilot (23)

Red Squadron Pilot (23)

Roark Garnet (19)

-Ion Cannon Turret (5)

-Recon Specialist (3)

My first match has me up against a 4 TIE list, Soontir, Turr, Mauler, and an Obsidian pilot, with upgrades to taste. It went about as expected: Round 1, no shots fired; Round 2, a couple hits on Roark, Soontir dead; Round 3, Mauler and Turr dead; round 4, the Obsidian dead, no losses on my side.

Second match was my toughest. Jan w/ Ion Cannon Turret and Nien Numb, 2 Rookie's, and a Blue, with sprinkled upgrades. I came out behind early, losing a RSP for no gain, but managed to even it out by dueling Jan with Roark and keeping her out of therest of the fight. Roark and my Dagger went down the same time as his other fighters, leaving my full health RSP against his Jan with 1 hit left. Then I flinched the wrong way and Jan got behind me. My full health RSP rapidly became a 2 health remaining RSP, while Jan never got shot at again. I landed on a rock on my last turn of movement, dropping me to 1 hull and leaving me in Jan's range after her turn, with the rock dead ahead against next turn. Jan also hit a rock: it was a 50/50 die roll whether I win or lose, and the rock finished off the opposing HWK for me.

Third match was another mirror, with him having a Y with an ion, a B with an ion, and a pair of X's (or maybe 1 X and 1 B, it was late). I came out ahead in the initial rounds, and it ended with me still having a couple ships left alive.

With only 6 players, 3 rounds gave us an undefeated and the store was supposed to have closed at the start of round 3, so they called it then and I came out with the certificate.

The next day I ran the same squad again in a smaller tournament for fun, and went 2-0 there too, taking down a 4-bomber team with only the loss of Roark, and a modified Biggs daggers team with no advanced sensors, but R2-D2 on Biggs. Biggs didn't survive the first round, but Roark did, and that sealed the game in my favor. I'll continue posting in this thread with my other store championship stories, as I have 4 more (on the 8th, 23rd, 29th, and 30th) to attend in my area.

I came in 3rd at my store championship.

Lacey Washington, Olympic Cards and Comics.

There were three rounds, and then a cut to the top four with a total of 21 players. It was supposed to be four rounds, but the store was getting ready to close.

I don't remember the name of the person who came in first, but he was flying

2 bounty hunters w/ recon specialist

omicrom group pilot w/ fire control system and gunner.

This was a tough list that was well flown, and was the only match I lost. My list was

garvin

red squadron pilot

dagger squadron pilot w/ advanced sensors

gold squadron pilot w/ ion turret, and r2 unit

This was my first tournament, and I had a great time. Not to mention that I did far better than I thought I would.

I just got back from my first store championship with a win. Gotta love the new range ruler!

Location: Seattle, WA

Players: 12 total

Chewie

-Draw Their Fire

Biggs

Jan Ors

-Squad Leader

-Ion Cannon Turret

I want to see what other people are winning with to see if the meta has changed a little bit.

To create some type of continuity of the reports, keep the posts short to essential information.

I'm curious to know what builds you faced.

I ran almost the exact same squad recently. Didn't loose a single ship in the games I played with it.

I played at Dream Wizards in Rockville, MD. Got first with the following list:

Biggs

3x Blue w/AdvS

2nd Place (had to play him twice, once in the Swiss rounds and once in the final round)

2x Dagger w/AdvS

Biggs

Rookie

3rd

Chewie w/recon and gunner

Han w/PTL gunner

(Probably some other upgrades I can;t think of right now)

4th (not sure about his build)

Firespray

Buzzsaw Shuttle

2-3 Ties.

Apologies for not being exact on the other builds. I'm pulling from memory.

I run a very similar squad when I run rebels{***}. Do you prefer Ion over blaster for control or just personal preference? I tend to use blaster + blue + rookie.
