help with cade bane character build

By pashacordaro420, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I was wanting help in making a cade bane style character. Any help that can be given would be much help i know some things like hes duro and bounty hunter more to the style of a gadgeteer

Are you trying to build a new character as a player who would be kind of like Cad Bane?

Or are you building a nemesis meant to resemble Cad Bane at the height of his powers?

The Gadgeteer specialization is would be good fit on the surface, assuming Bane is primarily a Bounty Hunter career. However, what is also clear from the Clone Wars is that he was also a very effective team leader and negotiator, neither of these skills are part of the Bounty Hunter career in Edge of the Empire. In reading his history, I think that he may have been primarily an Assassin first, followed by Gadgeteer, Mercenary Soldier (Hired Gun), AND Trader (Explorer).

Part of this comes out of what I see him using in the series.

I too would love to know more about this as I plan on using Cad on an upcoming session against my party (as a nemesis). This is set two years after the end of the Clone Wars and any help building him would be appreciated.

Well, Cad did fight multiple Jedi's, killed a couple and did a lot of very impressive stuff.

Very high cunning and willpower (he did resist three Jedi's trying to force him to speak AND managed to convincingly lie to them to set them up in a trap by letting them think they actually did it)

Very high agility as well to represent his skill with shooting and jumping around.

Some defensive talents (few levels of dodge along with the adversary talent)

Stats that would be high, but not as high would be presence, he commanded his own men well (but maybe more through coercrion, he just may have had a lot of rnaks in leadership) and again in negotiation. But he also had a lot of cool as well, so yeah, a high presence.

As with many characters Star wars, you are looking at multiple 6's (maybe 7's) and lowest ones probbably in the 4.

Still, unless you are going to give him a handicap, he is likely to decimate adventurers that aren't prepared or quite advanced.

Duros... Brawn 1, Agility 3, Intellect 3, Cunning 3, Willpower 2, Presence 3.

Go with Gadgeteer, or Mercenary Soldier to start with. Perhaps both to cross between leadership and killing.

I was thinking to go gadgetter and cross into scoundrel and work to be a decent pilot skills in try it this way to add my own flavor
