I know that FFG has stated in the past that they do not plan on going beyond the Rebelion and the Empire for X-Wing.

But do you think there is enough interest in this game for them to launch a seperate title for the Clone Wars era?

I dont know, maybe call it Jedi Star Fighter, or something like that.

The 2 factions of course would be the Republic and Seperatists. Now there are some goofy looking ships (everything Naboo ) but i really like the ARC fighter and think the Gunship would look awesome.

This game would be 100% compatible with X-Wing, so it is a way to introduce 2 new factions that you dont need to buy, and could add new upgrade cards to your stash.

Im just wondering if you all think this is something you would be interested in. I, tend to over indulge in my gaming hobby to the point of having way more than I need of anything, in the hopes that one day I can use it all. So i obviously would buy it, if only to have some cool miniatures for Star Wars.

But would this hurt the sales of X-wing products?

I personal feel that if there were more options, that when I went into a store to purchase X miniature, the chances of it actually being there would be better than the way it is now, where everyone seems to be looking for the same ship, or they sell out so fast if you dont pre-order you dont get one.

Because of this, I called my local store (which is over an hour drive from my house) to pre-order the Aces pack. I was told they only had 10 packs coming in and 8 where already spoken for. So of course I said I want them. But i was that close to not getting them, expecially after waiting for these things to get here from Tatooine. While on the phone he was nice enough to ask me if I wanted to pre-order any wave 4 ships. I said 4 of each please. I do not want to miss out on that goodness as well.

Point is, do you think X-Wing would benefit from another game in the same universe or not?

Ground game is the most likely IMO.

I don't think either a Clone Wars game or a ground game is likely. I have no idea whether it would hurt the "core" game's sales to have the competition, but I am pretty sure they're struggling to keep up with current demand--so they'd have to cut back production of X-wing products to work on anything else.

In seriousness though, it always bothers me when a company uses the same universe, the same mechanics, makes them 100% cross compatible, but calls them different games. That always strikes me as just a money grab so they can sell 2 copies of the rules to people, even though I know that isn't really the case.

However, FFG has done this several times already with RPGs. The 40k RPGs came out as seperate but compatible games and now I believe they are doing the same with the Star Wars: Age of... RPGs. So something similar for the miniatures game is not unlikely.

In all honesty I don't mind if they just do "Original Trilogy and Beyond" for dog-fighting space combat. If they went Separatists vs Clones that was 100% compatible with X Wing I could live with that too.

If they never do a ground based game I am also not really concerned. I am happy to tinker with ideas for this on my own. Even if they did do it when would we ever see it?

For one I have no love for the episode wars movies, some of the ship designs were nice (I happen to like the Naboo fighters) but I have ZERO interest in FFG making a spin off game for them.

As for ground combat, Id like to see them do it but Im keen to wait and see what the Dungeons and Dragons game looks like, it will have dragons in place of x-wings as well as ground troops, could be cool.

What I would like to see would be a Battlestar Galactica flight path game using realistic space mechanics

When I saw the Hardpoint and Team upgrades on the Tantive IV, it screamed making the Galactica.

Anyway, I can see an eventual prequel game. However, with Rebels and Episode VII coming, I doubt FFG and LFL would be interested in such a game in the midst of their marketing bonanza.

I doubt that it's likely, although who knows? But I'd personally love to play a Clone Wars variant if the model quality was as good as that of X-Wing.

Although I'm not sure I could afford to keep up with both games.

naboo fighters for the win and yes please oh gods give us KUS ( separatists and Republik ships) well most of the used ships existed in the X wing era too . in the galactic civi lwar 1 and 2 and in the new jedi order era

Somebody had to convince the Senate to grant more power to The Supreme Chancellor. Might as well be the character made for kids that no one likes.

I'd love Clone Wars era. Both in the RPG's and in a game like this.

However

I like the Rebellion era. I grew up with Episodes IV to VI long before I to III. So far from hurting X-Wing it might hurt FFG when we've emptied our gaming budget already on cool X-Wing stuff.

Exactly how I feel. I'm not interested at all in them making another game with the same system. I think it would just split the community and make finding opportunities to play more difficult. I also don't want them to expand the current game too rapidly and rush unbalanced units into the system. I think FFG has done a great job so far managing this game (apart from the wave 1 supply scarcity last year).

I myself wouldn't mind a ground game but with Episode VII coming out there will be ships for the X-Wing game for sure. So i believe that they will expand into that. As for expanding into Clone Wars territory, not sure if they will. But if they do I will get some ships.

I think that the Naboo pilots should have had Z95s for planetary defense. Those shiny naboo fighters would have been more impressive as Queen's escort, elite squad.

I would buy Clone war ships to play as old Imp ships used behind the line for escorts, rebel ships, and 3rd faction ships.
