so store championship is in two weeks. ive been trying to settle on a squad and have had success with the below list. then again my gaming group is a bit inexperienced so i wanted your thoughts:

dutch + ionturret+ R5 astro

garven

rookie

blue + FCS

essentially each round i have three ships that are target locked and focused. also the synergy created isnt necessarilt ruined if a named pilot is downed. boils down to 7 actions for the price of four. it has been nice to use the Bwing do 2k turns and then be target locked and focused due to garven and dutch

Nothing wrong with that list. I might consider dropping the R5 for init or AdvS, but that's up to you. I've found that I get more actions out of the AdvS than I do out of the FCS. Often times you'll find yourself out of range/arc of the unit you previously shot at, or it'll be dead. And in that case, the FCS did nothing.

Meanwhile, the AdvS not only let you BR before you move to give you more maneuverability, it also protects against collisions, and red maneuvers, and flying over asteroids. Nothing like BR right and back, and then hard 1 turn left, for basically a 90 degree pivot. I also like using my action at the end of my movement to BR right behind an asteroid, get the defensive benefit from it, and then AdvS BR back before you move the next turn.

Either way, don't be afraid to not make use of Dutch/Garven's abilities if it means a better position on the board. With synergy squads, I feel like too many people sacrifice their board positioning to ensure the synergy stays, and then find themselves in a bad position. Always maneuver first, and then if you can get a TL/F from it, cool. Otherwise, not the end of the world, you have a PS6 Y/X wing.

Also, for the times not everyone has a token, it's better to spread the love than to concentrate on TL+F. Exception for this would be giving a F to a R3 shot over a TL+F to a R1 shot.
