The easiest way to tell if you can look at the book in person is to look at the print code above the UPC. The second printing is NOV13, while the first is (I think) MAR12.

Most online retailers won't be able to tell you whether or not a book is first or second printing, but the last two copies of the Core Rulebook that I purchased at Miniature Market were the updated printing.
