Hi all, need your advice about my roster, i like to buy models and thinking about this :

2.HWK-290 "Kyle Katarn" - Ion Turret, Cloacking Device, Recon Specialist - 32pt

3. Z-95 Bandit Squadron - Cluster Missiles - 16pt

4. Z-95 Bandit Squadron - Cluster Missiles - 16pt

Well, first off, "Cloaking Device" isn't something that exists.

I believe you meant "Stealth Device", which is sub-par on a ship with only 2 agility dice. If that's what you meant, you'll find that the Moldy Crow title works with Kyle significantly better, and it costs the same points.

Alternatively, you can ditch either the Shield or the Stealth in favor of improving the Cluster Missiles into Assault Missiles.

For that matter, the Z-95's don't exist (technically) either.

They don't exist YET. I'm perfectly okay with speculative list-builds, but "Cloaking Device" hasn't been revealed in any way.

It is a natural ability of the Tie Phantom, so it's not outside of the realm of possibility, but we have no way of knowing what it does or how much it costs ;-)

Stealth of Cloacking device sound the same thing for me, sorry.

I thought that Z-95 is already in shelfs and we can by them and use?

And if they are in builder program presented, we can se the stats and upgrades and can calculate the basic rosters with them?

Im thinking about this roster, or maybee put the X or B wings in it and it becomes more potent?

  • Stealth is not the same as Cloak, as far as the game is concerned. The two words, in the English language, are synonyms so that might be confusing for people translating into something other than English.
  • Nope, you can't buy them yet.
  • Folks have added them to the various squad builder apps, but the ships and cards don't exist yet. So you can't fly them in tournaments. You can pretend you have them amongst friends, but that's about it.
  • I think your list does need an offensive ship. Once the Z's shoot their ordinance, you are stuck with 2 attack dice at best on most of your attacks.

Stealth on kyle might not be that bad actually. If he builds up a lot of focus tokens, and stays at range 3, that's 4 evade dice with focus tokens to use as well.

If he stays at three he won't be able to use his turret, also against ties I would not count on being able to dictate the range. It could work but to do it I think he should pull the turret and add crew or something.

Thanks guys.

The main thing in this roster is Ion Turrets, to control enemy movement phase a little bit. I need kill few targets and then i can dictate the speed. I have 2 turets with att 3, thats inought?

Maybe one B-Wing is better for my roster than two Z-95?

I'm not a big fan of it. Dutch is well equipped but remember he only has TWO green maneuvers for R2D2 to work with and may be the strongest ship you have. I'm not quite sure what your plan is with Kyle but the ship lacks any punch and the Stealth Device isn't really all that strong; sure, you may have a Focus to use on Defense, unless you get blocked which won't be hard, but your plan calls for staying at range which make him pointless on offense. To me the Zs lack punch of any kind; the clusters may be able to deal some damage against a low agility target IF they get in close but after that this squad is pretty much crippled. Looking at the squad points Kyle is a pretty easy sink although both named ships cost as much as the Zs to together.

Kyle is a support ship but I really don't see what you're supporting here. I mean if I just want to hand out a Focus token I'd take Garven instead who would actually provide me with some offensive punch and actually syncs up pretty well with Dutch. Since we are look at hypotheticals I wonder about the following.

Garven + Advance Proton Torpedoes + Stealth Device 35 pts

Dutch + R7T1 + Proton Torpedo + Ion Cannon Turret 35 pts

Bandit + Ion Pulse Missile (x2) 30 pts.

A lot of the same strategy you were looking at earlier except the Torps will pack more heat than the Clusters would have (you should be able to fire both with TL + Focus) and the Ion Pulse Missiles will help handle any large ships more effectively that the Ion Turrets would have.

For my tactics i need minimum two Ion Turrets.

From HWK-290 im geting Ion Turret and free Focus action for the other ship.

Remember that all the Ion Turrets will do for you is let you control someone's speed. Unless they are stressed they can still perform actions and make attacks. A concern is that you have no damage and you're dealing with a number of relatively fragile ships. If having two Ion Turrets is very important I'll point out the Kyle has a HUGE target on his back and is likely to get focused down quickly. I guess I'll also remind you that you'd actually need both of those ships hitting a large ship each turn to keep one ionized.

Having a B-Wing instead of those two Z-95s may help some but it also hurts in other ways. You'd be giving up two ships for one so you're giving up actions. Now in all fairness there has been some discussion about Rebel 666 squads using some combination of Garven, Dutch, Kyle, and Ibtisam.
