Haynes Imperial Death Star DS-1 Owners Manual....

By UHF, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Apparently the book was released last November so this might be news to folks around here. I found it in my FLGS, and it is a treasure trove of info for fans, GMs and Emperors alike.

I don't know about you guys, but I think the DS-1 needs more than a few spark plugs.

Although I feel that there isn't much that can really be placed directly into the game world it's still an awesome source of a variety if information. Like the Millennium Falcon guide it does a good job of discussing the related history of the Death Star. Then the book goes into some detail about he interior and of course the well known sets.

So maybe your crew isn't up to destroying the DS-1... Perhaps they could handle Palpatine's Eye? And how about that DS-0 prototype.... Perhaps they could try and fail to damage some critical components.

Things like this make for some fun campaigns. I've used a couple of things like this in a couple games. like using the star forge that the players had come across. It made a very interesting game and my players loved it.

I can recommend the Millennium Falcon guide for anyone that wants to put a little more technical grit into their game. It's been a good resource to look up for deck plans.

I like the Death Star. I wish a DS would last longer than a film though. DS2? What a pushover. This book is probably good for an alternate "what if Luke didn't destroy the DS" campaign...

That there is another thing I like about this system, is the what if scenario, and you play it how you want to play it. So luke doesn't blow up the DS, or the battle of Endor goes differently. makes for some fun game play.
